I know you early in the thread that this was temporary and seeing the final product I’ll ask WHY?

Rev 0 is always the learning curve. Any mods you make say replacing the hinges you can fill the holes, repaint and no one would know except you.

At a minimum you could sell the CAD DWG’s / Files

Thanks again for all the support, its been really encouraging!

I considered building some kind of kit but it would require a lot more R&D, I really like the ideas you all have about the cedar strip style design - I'll put my thinking cap on.

Some more progress recently, the herculiner coating went on, here's the first coat

It's weird stuff to use, quite a bit more gritty then I expected, the particles are quite large and it makes for quite an aggressive texture. Applied (with brush / roller) about 3 coats overall and had about a quart left over, I recommend a fresh roller for each coat - I had a third roller, but it wasn't the same texture and didn't work, so the windows and rear hatch were just done with a paintbrush.

Next up was fitting the hinges and testing the windows

All the hinges were painted and finally installed with carriage bolts and polyurethane adhesive sealant to further seal any places where the coated was penetrated.

Damn…… I want one ?

Unfortunately, the OP hasn't logged in for almost 2 years so I doubt we will be getting any updates on his nicely executed plywood topper....
