Did you point out that it is indeed located between the bumpers? Given the number of these things that have been replaced under the warranty, I'd have to say the evidence points at your dealer being wrong. Either open a claim directly with Ford, or just avoid the hassle and send some money Redline's way.
This is definitely covered under warranty, I've had mine replaced. Either there's something specific to NJ or the dealer is just clueless. (Or, I suppose, it is possible that Ford has issued a TSB saying that cracked parking brake boots are normal for the ranger and will no longer be replaced under warranty [because they've already cost ford too much money], but I'd want to see that in writing before believing a dealer.)

Six weeks from order to made i think. Didn’t sign, it came in regular mailbox.
I got a tracking number this morning.
Anyone prefer a type of glue that will hold up for long term ?

so it is actually true that the boot isn’t under warranty. its in the warranty guide. upholstery and soft trim is not covered. having said that- most dealers do a goodwill and will fix stuff like that once. ford’s 3/36 bumper/bumper doesn’t truly cover everything. but with the boot, dealers can get creative and cover it. depends on a customers attitude how how “by the book” they want to go.

Dealer replaced mine twice under warranty.

The factory boot was low quality.

The first replacement looked to be higher quality but cracked in exactly the same place.

The 2nd replacement was exactly the same as the first one so I knew it was also only a matter of time.

I did the Redline and it is light years better than the factory boots.

i’ll be replacing my boot myself too. the warranty shit just isn’t worth the hassle a lot of times. they fix the crap with the same inferior part…back to square one. the redline boot is THE fix. one and done.

As a bonus I now have the factory boot as a pattern in case I want to do something different.

If I get the urge to Pimp my Ride I can get one made of crushed velvet with cubic zirconia accents.

Very cool. I really like mine. Would like to get a matching cover for the center armrest.
