Ordering discounts

We will be lookingat new vehicles sometime in future. I've seen many people post about this discount or that... Plan X Plan A etc...

What does that all mean?
Who is eligiable?
How do you get them?
Are they only valid on ordered vehicles?

Any addition info would be appreciated.

Thanks, Wish I had bought Ford stock a few years back when it was around $5 a share. Looks like Mustang club will be the way to go. Ford stock is too volitale

FYI, you might check with your employer - I got mine thru my employer. Also, in the current environment dealers may not accept it, so you'll want to confirm with your dealer if they will.

For me it was cheaper not to use my X-plan (ordering) incentive was better by $700, and as others have stated with the changes in dealer sales most are not accepting X-Plan anymore.
They use a calculation (%) of invoice plus plan fee plus paperwork processing fee. (X-Plan)
I don't have the specs handy, but the hard part is getting the dealer to give you the invoice price without sitting in front of them and talking deal. I found this out while researching for my truck.

As I read the above article, the X-Plan for Ford shareholders is going away - not the entire X-Plan program.
