They'll likely give you a 6 month pull ahead for brand loyalty. I've leased 3 fords and the dealership starts calling about 6 months before maturity to get you into a new ford.
All depends on the used car market at the time. I've leased a couple Fords and other makes and never got the early lease turn in option from any of them. I have sold the vehicle to a third party though, which is an option that nobody has mentioned yet.

Very true. And the more I think of it, could've been only 3 months and not 6. It's been a few years, I can't remember. I did just get a letter with a "check" in it from the dealer requesting me turn in my mustang. I have no interest in that, unless the Mrs. allows me a gt350 ha.

I second this, led lights should be included with all. Kind of stupid its not. Its the one thing that i really regret not having. I think its a sham LED lights arent standard for any vehicle these days. Hell i feel like 20k cars have these standard.

Im in a 2020 xlt WITH rear locker. Locker is standard on FX2 but still optional on other trims, at least it was for 2020 models.
Oh OK I’m definitely no expert, I just thought rear locker was part of FX4-2 packages.

No worries....Ur spot on with " get out there and enjoy ur truck" ... i waited several months too long before enjoying some basic to moderate trail riding. i was skeptical at first ( without 4WD) but ive learned with the locker, even on stock tires, this truck still does very well in deep sand and on wet lime rock trails... a little Florida mud too!

If you're planning to go to Moab, keep in mind that your 5% window tint on the front door glass is not legal in Utah. Of course it's also not legal in your home state of California. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any state where it would be legal. If you couldn't afford to buy the truck, you probably also won't be able to afford the tickets...
I have 5% all the way around on my Ranger.

I know many not all, that will say, Meh I dont need that and wish they splurged on it later. That was me, been there and done that. My first truck was not a 4wd and was stuck several times in the the most ridiculous places. Like my backyard. So I made sure all my trucks after that where 4wd and loaded. Then again, I still add crap to it

We don't really need 4WD- we have another vehicle that has AWD, ABS, traction control, fully-independent suspension, and some nice Michelin tubeless radials, and it seems to do pretty well off road...

July 14, 2020 is the original lease day. So at a 36 month lease July 2023 is the end date. I don’t really want to wait but it looks like that is going to have to happen. Maybe Ford will offer an early turn in option before the end. ? Dodge did this a few year ago.
I guess it will have to be light off roading for a few years. Hopefully Ford does not change the wheel bot pattern on the 6g so I can keep the Raptor wheels. Everything else I am not worried about keeping.
You may not have to wait after all.

I guess it's due to the chip shortage, but I'm getting unsolicited offers to buy my truck from several new car dealers I've dealt with in the past, all for significantly more than I paid for it OTD back in DEC 2019.

Check with your dealer or possibly any Ford dealer to see if they might be willing to buy your lease out early.

You may be pleasantly surprised.

Moab, yogi had it right "nobody goes there anymore it's too crowded" . My son tried a month or so ago and it took over an hour on 191 from i-70 to get into Moab, the traffic at times now is stop n go , the police could have a field day ticketing all of the illegal aspects of vehicles but they don't bother, I doubt they are going to bother with an out of state vehicle with 5% window tint.

Of course, it also has a 62,200 pound GVWR, five drivetrain lockers, dual CTIS, and a 12-liter (732 cubic inch) CAT turbodiesel with 425 horsepower and 1,550 pounds of torque, which is kind of handy...

So I have been adding mods since leasing my Magnetic 2020 XLT like Eibach level, Raptor Grill, color match painted the tailgate emblem and bezel, and a Flowmaster 40 series exhaust. I also recently ordered raptor wheels and getting tires too. I planned to purchase at the end of the lease. I could not afford loan payments and the lease payments are almost $150 less a month. Not the point though.

(This is two days after getting it).

There are two things I wish I had in the truck. First, LED headlights, I have drop-in LED bulbs for now and will probably get the Morimoto headlights when released, so problem solved. Second, I miss the push to start I had in my challenger but I can live with the key start. There where no Lariats available within 500 miles when I got the truck.

The one regret is that it is 2wd. I did not think it would matter as I did not plan to do serious off roading. However, now I want to do some more serious off roading. (I blame you all for this, the off roading pictures mainly).

I think I have a few options, (1) purchase the truck at the end of the lease and add 4wd to this truck or (2) return to stock and trade in early or wait until the end of the lease, return to stock and get a new Ranger with all the things I want.

FYI: I have kept all of the stock parts I have replaced and will continue keep them.

What do you all think? I would love your opinions but let’s avoid the “you should have done’s”... I beaten myself about them enough already. Also, if you any information on adding 4wd such as a parts list and potential cost.
Why are you modding a lease? Seems like a waste of $$.

Do you plan on buying it when lease is up?
