so, my question is, does the oil life senses time, but that would be for the synthetic blend... but I use full synthetic..so I'm thinking that indicator would not be accurate ... whatcha think??

its not necessarily the oil that cant make it past the year...its the contaminants contained within that cause you problems

i'd stick to the year maximum no matter what unicorn juice you're putting in it.
My issue is I only drive it about 2000 miles a yr.

I'm not at 4k since last oil change and showing 25% oil life. Not much driving last year and a lot of short trips.

I'm using Mobile1 "extended life" that's supposed to last 15k miles but I never intended to go that far. It was just the most recommended in the oil thread on here.

Oil is cheap. Engines are not. Oil does break down and pick up various contaminants over time. Moisture would be my biggest worry with low miles like that. Personally I would get some Motorcraft Synth-blend or whatever the OE stuff is and go with that on a 1 year interval. ~$40 a year worth the risk of not doing it?

Oil life is determined by calendar elapsed time, mileage and diving conditions (driving style)

Synthetic "whatever it is" does not breakdown....or at least not easily. It does however get just as dirty as any other fluid or oil or lubricant.

I'm in a similar boat. I can go over a year and the oil life still doesn't say I need a change. I still change it though. Cheap insurance. At the very least it keeps my Ford Pass points from expiring when I do it at the dealership and it keeps them from using it to try and deny any future warranty work I may need.
