Does anyone know what the oem skid is made out of and how thick?? I contacted a Toyota fabricator that makes a stronger Toyota OEM lookalike skid. He said he would be insterested in doing a Ranger one but needs that info.

Pretty sure it is steel. Fairly heavy duty. Correct me if I’m mistaken.

Hi FL,

My front skid plate or what ever you choose to call it is bolted to the tow brackets on the front...not the bumper... When I deleted the tow brackets for the base plates of my Roadmaster tow behind my RV, they included an extension to which I bolted the skid plate... I then made fabricated tow brackets that inserted into the base plates. My Garage has photos of this setup. Good luck with your adaption..

Any news on the Westin Skid Plate? I like the price but not sure about the fit with the OEM bumper.

That is a stock bumper. The instructions are sparse and the photos are terribly dark.
The plate is about an 1/8 thick and is made of steel. It’s heavier than you’d think it would be. I plan on installing next week or the week after.
I’m also happy to report it doesn’t have a cut out of the Westin logo.
