I’ll be going with the Yakima outpost bed rack and yakima J hooks. Theyre 13” tall, just enough to fit my mtb underneath and short enough to (hopefully) not grab near as much air as they do on the roofline. Just gotta scrounge up the cash.

I believe Westin has a skid plate for the ranger.. just a plain black steel one. Theyre like 166 on RockAuto Anyone have this or installed before? Is it easy?

FYI you can search these on rockauto.com and find them for relatively cheap. Ill be buying soon to take apart and take a crack at painting them.

finally took the bikes out today. Super pleased with the tailgate pad. No movement from either bike although I did run a not-so-tight bungee from the frames to the front anchor handles. Cruisin at 85mph with no issues at all- I'll call it a win.

I've got the Demon Tailgate pad on order now. I have a discount with Fox Head but it comes with long shipping times so I opted for this one after reading reviews. I'll let you know how it fits and performs sometime soon. It should arrive tomorrow and I plan on riding early next week...
