I'm glad you didn't have to suffer as much as I did...

i spoke too soon, there the SLIGHTEST amount of play in the adapter and when the truck idles it amplifies to a wild vibration in the mirror vision.

Also I noticed my fuse #27 Is tapped already for my trigger six, not sure how to navigate this. I’m running out of patience and burning the little free time I have might be time to hand it off to my mechanic buddy for a cleaner install.

That adapter is a nightmare to get tight enough.

Mine vibrated a lot too... that lasted a week and then it fell off.

The 2nd time I attached it,,, I took extra time to ensure it wouldn't come loose again. Then I called a chiropractor.

I reinstalled the adapter and took extra care, but it still has a slight amount of play. I might give it a third attempt or try a different approach.

I’ve been doing a dry fit for the past few days to see how I like the mirror and camera placement. I still have a view from the optical mirror, and I much prefer that rear view—it feels more natural since the perceived viewing distance doesn’t change so drastically.

I’m finding two things a bit distracting. First, the video-feed rear-view mirror is a constant distraction in my peripheral vision when I’m looking forward down the road. Second, when I do check the video-feed mirror, the viewing distance is so close that my eyes readjusting back to the forward view feels unnatural. The optical mirror doesn’t cause the same strain.

That said, when my bed is loaded up for camping trips, I have no optical rear view, so the video-feed rear view will be very helpful. It’s a big change, and I’m wondering if I’ll eventually get used to it. changing the brightness of the screen depending on day and night does seem to help. I do LOVE the mult-cam recording, its amazing for a dashcam, adventure videography and will make a great spotter when I'm wheeling alone.

Both the auto-dimming and manual-dimming mirrors have spring steel retention clips - a different design for each but they function the same. Their holding power is what you have to overcome when clocking them off.

If only the adapter had something that strong built in.

Agreed, I'm giving up on the adapter. I think there may be a bit of vibration in my camera mount too but its hard to tell with the mirror mount not holding properly

Maybe a drop of rearview mirror glue on the bracket??

Since I am not sure:
Is it the Adapter to OEM mount
Or
New mirror to adapter
That is actually not fully securing tight
Either way - I would try to find something to take up the slop - Tape, Thin Piece of rubber , cloth , gauze etc

Hey Jason, does the set screw on that adapter go into a hole or does it just snug up tight up against the plastic-looking hex nut on that piece attached to the windshield?
