I have my phone plugged in for android auto, and i have plugged in a few hard drives to these plug ins, with success, to listen to music.
So can i use this plug in adapter for my aux cord devices with success??

There will be no way to select USB audio as an input. The best you could do is get a bluetooth transmitter, pair it to your truck and use the headphone input on that to feed the aux. If you find a car with an aux and the same sync version you might be able to use the harness to add an aux input to the sync system, but I don't think there's anything unpopulated on the back of the unit.

I have a bluetooth input/output device but I don't know what it's called. Something like this should work though.

And this (says Expedition, but I'm sure there is a ranger one.)

Looks like the product in the link gets its input through bluetooth and outputs it through 3.5mm (adding bluetooth to vehicles via the vehicle AUX port). Not sure what you would call the opposite of that (take in 3.5mm, output to bluetooth) but that's what to look for instead

The one I have does both functions. It has out and in, but can only bluetooth in one direction at a time.

Looks like the naviks one works on the Ranger via usb.

I missed that in my interweb searches! No charger needed, that is a plus. I have seen some transmitters/receivers, but all needed charging of batteries

I managed to find a bunch that work both directions. They're named things like 'bluetooth transmitter / receiver with 3.5mm'. Just make sure it's at least a bluetooth trasmitter or a transmitter/receiver combo, and not only a receiver

Definitely report back with success/failure. I have a generic USB-C DAC that I can't try because there is no USB-C on the Ranger which lead me here...

EDIT: I have a Creative Audigy Z USB that I really want to try :)
Maybe I'll try my 3.5mm -> USB-C with a USB-C -> USB-A adapter I have.. just to see..

Edit: nevermind.. I don't think I own anything portable that outputs 3.5mm to test it with o_O

I will order something this week, or various devices, and see what works or does not. Or how well, or poorly.

How did you fit your cassette tapes inside it?
I put all my cd's and digital downloads on my PC then copied them to my USB thumb drive. I bought the smallest solid drive with the highest capacity. Not even close to being full and when I put the trucks player on random I have at least 8 hours of music.

Does your phone have blue tooth?

I normally don't bother plugging unless I need power or to text.

My phone connects via blue tooth automatically to the truck's on board bluetooth system when I get in, and music or phone calls work perfectly through the audio system.

I have 256GB USB thumb drive filled with .wav rips. CD quality sound without the discs. I do wish CD players were still available from the factory
