Hi , I am selling my truck and want to put everything back to the way it came off the line. I see there is an option to use a downloaded file but it says the numbers and blocks didn't match so I didn't do anything. The fear of bricking the PCM is real?

Anyone been in this same situation? Thanks

Yikes. Is it a tune or Forscan work that you’re reverting Jim?

I have no answers, just curious. I hope someone comes to your rescue.

Thanks Duke, I'm trying to revert the Forscan changes. I have the original configurations, but the way it downloads a file from Ford seems like it should be a little more seamless is all.

Plus I'm just a scaredycat LMAO

Why do you want to revert it back? The dealership doesn’t care, I’d leave it.

I did that and had the same result, I watched enough forscan videos I was comfortable it was not a problem and it worked fine. Also the newer versions of forscan will DL your as-built for you as long as you have internet...

I hope that helps!

Since these trucks are wifi-capable, does that mean that it's possible to use forscan from your computer without physically linking it to the truck with the adapter? Or do you need to get a wifi-compatible adapter to do that? My tablet is 6-years old, which practically makes it an antique, and it runs like it is, but I don't have the spare budget to replace it at the moment, so I'm wondering if I could run forscan from my home office computer without too much hassle.

OK, it sounds like you did backup the original asbuilt files before you made changes. CORRECT? You need to go into each module you made changes to and reload the original file for that module. FORSCAN only works with one module at a time. The asbuilt file from Ford is not in a format that FORSCAN can use, and contains all the modules.

This is a good time to remind newbies to FORSCAN to backup and save in a safe place all their modules asbuilt files before making any changes. While you won't brick your truck with FORSCAN, not all changes will work on the Ranger and it is nice be able to go back to the original asbuilt if necessary.

Just leave it. I traded my 2020 in and keft all the changes. Even the bronco flashscreen. They either didn't notice, or didn't care, or both.

That's a relief that turning the truck into a paperweight is not gonna happen, thanks.

Yes I backed up all the modules, they are in my computer I guess I just need to figure out how to import the data, copy and paste wise. My computer connects with Wi-Fi no problems.

Tbh I got lazy after I made the first couple rounds of changes and stopped documenting them so I will restore all the modules backto the original config. Thanks.

Mine was 2020. When I went into Forscan it was able to pull the as built data direct from Ford. It was a newer feature of the software at the time I reverted to stock and made things very simple. Good luck.
