Guess you can add me to the list. Been experiencing real jerky shifts from 3rd to 6th, occasional hard down shifts also. Brought into the Dealer on July 1st, went on a test ride with the Transmission mechanic. After the test ride we walked into the shop and he told the service advisor "we have another one". They held onto the vehicle and on 7/3 I was told a new tranny was on order. Real smooth process so far, so glad I didn't have to fight to get this issue resolved. Was told I should have the truck back by 7/12, we shall see. Fingers crossed...

Sorry about the issues - but Awesome Response by the Dealer:like:
This is the way - All issues should be handled - skip the band aid fixes, it is a known issue.
Now I do not know (how much $$) does Ford actually lose by this, as the Trans will be sent off for overhaul and rebuild and then resold as (Reman) so I am curious when all is said and done what is the price loss (parts wise) - Labor is another issue (Ford to Dealer) Payment. I am noting a change here (parts available quicker), so they have a stash somewhere.
So now it's the DEBATE will you get NEW or REMAN, I am on the NEW side of the fence, now if this was an older vehicle and parts are no longer easily sourced, I can see a Reman or even a Salvaged Used - Not within warranty though

Agreed, glad they skipped all the BS and went to the known fix. Reman or new, Well, I was told I was getting a "new" transmission, but that may just be a term they use to say it won't be a "rebuild". I will ask next time I speak with them. I would agree it must be cheaper for Ford to Just toss in a new one vs the Warranty labor cost for a rebuild, most shops only have one transmission mechanic and I was told this dealership had three transmissions in various states of repair. I think Ford is starting to see the writing on the wall, and are accepting the fact they have an issue on their hands and want it resolved quick by actually doing the right thing.

Sorry you gotta become another one with issues.

My 22' ranger at shy of 17k started to show signs of significant and worrisome issues. Between the seat problems and then trans issues I traded it in.

Never did trust these 10spsds from the start. We need to return to 4-6 speeds

Man, that sux! I like the truck, however I've had some other issues in past, If new ones pop up I may just do the same, although its paid for and I have an extended warranty to 125k.. I believe the EPA has a hand in this also, unrealistic MPG numbers is forcing manufactures to scramble to achieve those buy rolling out unproven designs in time to market. 35 mph in 7th gear, really??? 10 years ago any mechanical engineer would of laughed at the idea.

Mike Maroone Ford in Longmont.
were you just under the milage (60k) for warranty replacement ? I asked about which dealer because sometime back on here there was a discussion about how lousy many of the Denver area dealers are - I bought mine from the Brighton dealer, have not had to go back for warranty work, I'm now in Grand Junction, there is a Ford Dealer here and I've heard good things about them.

Indeed bring back the ZF designed 6 speed, if Ford wanted more ratios they should have just licensed the ZF 8 speed like they did with the 6R80.

Virtually of of the cheap Chinese utes being imported into the country here now use it, as ZF has a few factories in China. Likewise the BW transfer cases. The one thing owners don't complain about, is the transmissions.

I would love to have a ZF8 in my truck. It is a truly great transmission.

If Bronco can get a manual, why not Ranger? Transmission problems solved.

I assume so, since they are built on the same platform. And now the 2.7V6 is available on 6G Ranger.
