Long time reader, first time poster. Calling in today to share my recent (and still ongoing) experience with the ill-fated transmission on my 2019. For what it's worth, the transmission isn't the only thing that's plagued my truck: the TPMS sensors are wonky and the A/C went out a few months back.
Back to the transmission, at about 50,000 miles (about a year ago) I first approached my local dealer about experiencing hard shifting and hesitation in the 10-25 mph range usually in stop and go traffic when I was on and off the throttle with light acceleration. It would hesitate almost every time 4th gear was involved. It would clunk around and drive like a 15 year old trying to learn stick. It wasn't throwing any codes and they couldn't replicate the problem so they told me to pound sand. I couldn't replicate it either because I didn't fully understand the circumstances in which the symptoms were popping up at the time. Fast forward to my next service, bring it up again and again was turned away due to no Christmas tree dashboard. I had more or less given up at this point and given in to the dealership gaslighting.
Fast forward again to 2 months ago. A/C just went out and I'm ready to drive the truck into a lake. Trucks at 64,000 miles so Ford warranty is a thing of the past but fortunately I got suckered into an extended warranty. First new car and I got scared of the potential to have to replace expensive parts (spoiler alert - I was right between the A/C and transmission). In hindsight this should have been a move I made about a year ago but I decided to bring it to another dealer in the area. Sure enough, after replicating the weird shifting they were able to pinpoint the issue with a full teardown. Sure enough, my transmission is cooked. I don't have the specifics but deep down something was rattling around and shaving metal off of some other parts that needed it. The extended warranty company is (reluctantly) covering a new transmission and I'm currently about 2 weeks out on getting my truck back. If the new transmission has issues then I think I actually will drive it into a lake, but that'll be a new post.
Tl;dr: Dealer called me crazy about transmission problems, went somewhere else and got a new one with extended warranty.
