With the good luck I’ve had with this BFGoodrich Trail Terrains on other vehicles, I finally put a set on my Ranger! I went a size up to 265/65/18 over the factory 265/60/18 and I think they look great! I have the Ford Performance tuner which let me adjust for the difference in size that these tires are to have an accurate speedometer. So far they feel a lot better than the factory Hankooks ever did in town and on the highway.

Thanks! No new pics of the 98. It resides in my parent’s garage and is driven a couple times per month lol. This one is from 2020 when it was first brought “home”. It looks the same, but now has the full size mirrors that were optional at the time.

Nice truck, I like the way that the new tires fill up the fender wells, like your 98 Ranger too.

Thanks! That’s what I was going for. I’m at stock height and am keeping it that way. I do have Bilstein 4600s all the way around.

I have the same tires in the stock size. Used them in some snow and towed our trailer with them. Seems to be a good compromise for on- and occasional off-road use.

without intending on derailing this conversation (nice trucks, btw... like the red paint) I went on Tire Rack's site, and looked around a little. Actually, I was looking to see if they still made the Long Trail T/A (they apparently don't -- had a set on my 2001 Wrangler and loved them)
so one thing caught my eye. The Trail Terrain T/A comes in blackwall and RWL versions. I'd assume (I hate using that word) that they're the same tire with a cosmetic difference, but they're not. The RWL tires are "severe snow rated" and the blackwalls are not.
If you go into it a little and compare the two, it turns out the RWL tires also have a deeper tread depth. without emailing BFG's customer service, any ideas why there's a difference?

From what I’ve seen, the black wall version are O.E. equipment spec. Made “cheaper” in simplest terms.
