Be careful which fuse you tap into. I initially tapped into a fuse that was always on and had a dead battery a couple of days later. I think I eventually tapped into fuse 35.
The attached info was very helpful. I don't remember where I got it (this forum?), but I can't find it now.
I've got the Bridgestones at about 36K and am due for replacements. 18K of that has been towing a 5700 lb travel trailer. If I wasn't towing regularly I probably wait until 40K to replace them. Tires rotated with the oil change every 5K.
You are correct. I didn't realize they were supposed to protect the hood too, although based on some of the other responses that protection appears to be minimal. Thanks for pointing that out.
I'm curious and I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, but what is your goal in installing one of these? Obviously you want to protect the paint on the front of the hood. But why? With the deflector installed you can't even see that part of your truck. Do you think the truck looks better...
That makes sense. You still have to unhook but you could do that remotely and not tie up the scale. Curt Mfg confirms your suggestion - https://www.curtmfg.com/trailer-parts/couplers/learn-more
As far as I know, the only way to get tongue weight at a CAT scale would be to unhook and only weigh the tongue. I suspect that would be discouraged. Is that what you’re suggesting or am I missing something?
I just replaced my parking brake boot with the Redline boot (very nice upgrade). I had previously noticed that the brake was a bit loose so during the boot replacement I tightened up the cable a bit.
I was surprised to see that I could tighten the nut by hand. There is no locking feature or jam...
I have been using these for about two years now https://www.etrailer.com/Towing-Mirrors/K-Source/KS69ZR.html
Very happy with them. They are very solid and never move. The straps tend to slip off without the extra piece that holds them in place (3/4" Baltic birch). I also use a Haloview backup...
You are near the limit, so make sure your WDH is dialed in and you watch your weights. Power isn't the issue, but stability will be.
Good luck and happy travels in your Lance. We love ours.
My wife was not in the truck at the time (she was paying for the weigh); otherwise you are correct. The tongue weight was also included, since we were hooked up at the time.
Just returned from our first big trip towing our (new to us) travel trailer, a 2019 Lance 1995. A great experience, the truck handled everything well and we had no issues. The trailer weighed 5740 lbs (520 tongue/5220 axles); truck weight 5800 (2560 front/3240 rear); GCVW 11540. I’m using an...
To set the trailer length in the menu, go to Driver Assist > Blind Spot. From there, select "Trailer lengths" to enter the length (for up to three trailers), then "Trailer" to select the appropriate one.
The dealer responded with this reply, "...what you are seeing is most likely our GPS system. You may have purchased it [I didn't] or it may have been left in there accidentally."
Interesting that they never mentioned a GPS system when we purchased the truck.
I'm installing my Ford trailer brake controller and while under the dash I found the Smart Data Link Module (SDLM) (it incorporates the OBD port) just hanging under the dash with the adapter in the photo hooked up to it. It plugs into the SDLM and has an OBD connector that is attached where the...
I have the same ProClip holder mounted on the right side. Most of the time I’m using CarPlay, so I turn the phone 90 degrees (landscape) and the dash screen isn’t blocked for me or my navigator. ProClip makes great stuff but it’s not cheap.
