Umm, new member here ? ? ? only because my phone went in the pool and took my account and forgotten password to this site with it to the bottom , (only 52" deep but phone was still lit and presumably still had wife on the line as her call startled me and that's how the damn phone went in , HER fault) and for some odd reason the music to "Titanic " was playing in my head as my phone slowly swayed to the bottom... new phone , waterproof case ...

Would you do it?
If it were me, I would not. But I would rather the 2WD as I think it has a little better payload and lower maintenance cost over time, while I think the 4WD has a little higher tow rating. I would like to lower my truck some and tow with it, and the towing limit of the 2WD is still in my needed range, and lowering without worrying about front axles has its advantages. That said, I have a 4WD because that is what was on the lot when I drove by and saw it, loved the Cyber Orange Metallic color with Black Appearance Package so I got it. Also, I do not like the chrome appearance package for the Ranger, so that 23 would be off my list fast.

I would say go with which ever has the tow package and if both have it, go with the one that makes you happy.

Edit: do you have a link to that 2023, I thought the chrome package (the only way I know to get the chrome trim I see) also included chrome running boards, were they damaged in a wreck and replaced with the black running boards? Or, was chrome running boards on the chrome appearance package another deleted item for 2023?

Edit2: Looked at the 2023 guide and the running board was not part of the Chrome package, and listed as optional, but there is nothing on the guide saying you could not order the black running board with the chrome package. In Canada on the XLT the chrome package is the XTR package and it states that black running boards are N/A with the XTR package.

Welcome Tim, looks like you have been out exploring great photo ops for the Ranger. Glad Ford made it right with the blend door issue.
Yeah, been out at least 2 times a month since I picked it up! Fortune to live in AZ and have beautiful landscape in any direction you go.

i was having issues picking a name ,
"NotDave" was on the list , also "WVBedBug" (Which would kinda be the opposite of "AZScorpion") I also tried "BANNED"as a name so it would look cool ? if (or when, really) it actually got banned ...

Welcome OP. Nice looking truck you’ve got there. I’ve had mine for over 5 years now and love it. There are tons of different options to make it unique.

After a lot of thought and sleeping on it, I've decided to pass. Main reason, too much chrome and shiny bits.
I had a look at 6G and can get something new and similar for a couple grand more.
This FX4 is at a Hyundai dealer in Alexandria, LA. I think someone traded for Santa Cruz.

Just saw this!!! I'd even PM'd you the other day asking "who da f***" is NotBudule2?!" Realized this morning that I never got an answer which was weird... so went searching :inspect: for NotBudule2 posts.

Yea, been told before I'm like a "Dime holding up a dollar."

I'm Chris from Cape Cod and this is my new to me 2021 Ranger Lariat, FX4, tow, 501A, Securicode, slush mats, factory hard tonneau. I needed to get out of my VW GTI and into a truck, but I wasn't giving up LED lighting, heated leather seats, SXM, and Android Auto. This one is kind of a unicorn. I bought it from a dealer in Long Island. It was a one owner, 3 year lease return, where the leasee was the dealer's sales manager. All maintenance was done on time. Everything was included, like both keys, manuals, Securicode key card, etc. 25K miles, $36K out the door. I rented a car on the Cape, drove it to Bridgeport CT, took the ferry, and drove to the dealership, then turned around and went the same way home. Clean, low mileage trucks like this are like houses around here. They sell in a day or two. You gotta move fast and be willing to be flexible. I bought it sight unseen with a return guarantee. Needless to say, it's not going back.

I've been a VAG guy pretty much my whole life although I did own a 1999 Ranger SuperCab 4.0L 5 speed. Great truck, another unicorn. VAG has a diagnostic/modification system called VAGCOM that is a lot like Forscan, so I'm very familiar and comfortable with hex programming and software mods in general. I'm going through the Forscan threads to narrow down what I'd like to do.

See you on the forums.

Welcome Christofer. I only made a few Forscan changes since it scares me a little. I did Bambi mode and got rid of the double honk if you close door with engine running. I should have changed the fob alarm setting to double push but haven't.

There is tons of information on this forum you can use to help lighten your wallet.
