Hi, my name is Hunter, and I ordered my 23 supercrew back in December, just got my build date and vin yesterday. Week of March 20th. I live up in Fairbanks, AK so I’m interested to see how the turbo fares in the cold (a few weeks ago it was -45 freedom units) I’m coming from a 93 Honda CR-V that finally bit the dust, so I’m really excited to get my truck in, so I don’t have to keep carpooling with my fiancé.
cheers!
Welcome Hunter! It's be interesting to hear back on how the Ranger does in those sub zero temps. Here I have the opposite where we'll have daily highs in the 112+ range throughout the summer. While the turbo doesn't like the heat it still performs well in it.

Just a little fyi tell your fiancé not to worry about all those packages that are now showing up at your doorstep. It's a prerequisite to spend as much money on mods as possible when doing this forum! ?

Welcome Hunter, I can attest to it doing fine in -12 and hope to not see -45! You will probably get parking sensor warnings when ice builds up on parking sensors so just turn it off.

Welcome to the forum Hunter - there are others on here from AK and some from the Canadian Prairies who have had great performance out of their Rangers in similar cold temperatures. I hope you do as well. Be sure to post some pictures when it arrives.

Lol yeah, I’m probably gonna get a damper, but before half of you guys flame me, it’s for the ease of use by my fiancé. I gotta make sure she likes the truck too. I know I’ll turn into a flabby weak little shrimpy guy once I install it, but happy wife happy life

Flame you, you just made my day! ??

But you're really going to be in trouble if you're getting one for your fiancés benefit. We all need our significant others to close our tailgates because we're now to weak to do it ourselves. :frown: See what you're in for?:oops:

But I don’t have my man card anymore, so I can’t even buy those! I just checked my pants, and I have no more trouser snake, so looks like I’ll have to go with the regular ones. Sucks how a total stranger on the internet can completely steal my masculinity :crying::crackup:

There was no '93 CR-V, did you mean '03?

New to the forum!

Just ordered a 23 Ranger. This will be my first time owning a truck*. For the last 6 months I have been borrowing my dads F150 while babying my BMW M2C "toy". Well, he finally wants his truck back... so I guess its time for me to get that Ranger. Past cars have included a MX-5, SVT Focus, and a few Mustangs (including a Terminator).

I have been searching around the forums for a few days now building an initial "mod list", mostly focusing on floor mats, some lighting, the Ford Performance grill, a rolling tonneau, and a spray in bedliner. Looking forward to learning more, and most importantly... finally getting my truck.

Most of my automotive fun has come on pavement, mostly due to being stuck in Virginia. But I have always wanted to get more into the "offroad" hobby. Maybe we will see what the next few years hold... at least a few trips down to the OBX.

Thanks for having me! Impressed so far!
