Welcome!
Pictures of the truck? What are you towing, or thinking of towing?
Towing a GeoPro 19qb which is around 3900# fully loaded. I came from a 2011 Toyota Tundra which served me well. The combination though of poor gas mileage and constantly always trying to be in the wrong gear drove me nuts.

So far so good. Our camper season is over here in NW Wyoming.

I transfered my Tekonsha Primus brake controller over from the Tundra and installed some blue Sumo springs. The only time I even know it's back there is if it's extra windy otherwise it's a dream.

I really appreciate all the information on this site about towing with a Ranger. It made my decision to get one a lot easier.
Welcome Bill.

Welcome! And what a great looking rig!

I'd love to hear more about the installation of your Tekonsha Primus brake controller. It is very nicely priced and the features look great from what I just read on the eTrailor site.

I've had the Primus for a few years and it's gone from a Jeep Cherokee to the Tundra now to the Ranger. The installation was pretty straightforward. It would have been nice if Ford would have put a plug in place so that all you need is the correct harness but they didn't. No problem finding the wires under the kick panel but it is quite awkward to make the connection. I wound up mounting it right above the hood release and because it's pretty low profile I haven't whacked my knee so far getting in and out. Functionally it has all the options I need for a 4000# camper.

That sounds like a perfect match for what we want to do (tow something like a Lance 1475 and tow a 17 foot boat).

Too bad it's not as easy as you've experienced with two other vehicles but it certainly is much easier than the convoluted install for the Ford-branded brake controller.

I hope you find us informative (and very corny as well, but that's what happens when an old fart gets a Ranger, makes you feel like a kid again). =)

Welcome Bill - that looks like a comfortable setup you have there - Wyoming is such a great place for someone who enjoys camping and it's so close to so many other great places to explore.

Enjoy!
