Your 90% comment is SO TRUE.....and those who live in NewYorkCity? do not think anyplace else worth living in exists.
I’m originally from Upstate NY (Albany/Saratoga/Schenectady...the CAPITAL Region).
When visiting any place south of Poughkeepsie, I would be asked “HOW MANY COWS??? DO YOU HAVE?” ...they think anyone north of NewYorkCity is a toothless hillbilly farmer?

Love seeing more NYers on here! However, anything south of Binghamton is downstate/NYC to us upstaters (I spent 6 years on LI and in Brooklyn) Nice looking truck! I gotta make my way down that way and get off-road!

I live outside of Utica so anyone south of the Thruway we consider downstate. LOL

I'm just over the bump from you in Morrisville.
We define downstate as anything southern past Oneonta. (Yes Oneonta not Oneida)
