What is that gold stripping on the back window...defrost?? Never saw it so pronounced like that before?? Nice rideWell here she is. In a life time time of owning trucks, this is my first Ford of any kind. Now one week / 50mi into ownership I am generally happy with the ride, features, and overall apparent quality. Only time will tell of course, but I'm happy to be a Ranger owner and a part of this group.
A few things already done including "auto engine off" bypass wiring harness / chip, steps removed from running rails, "easy down" tailgate piston, Diode Dynamics 6" (pair) light bar (lower grill / below - either side of front license plate), OEM engine "cover", LoMax Tonneau cover, window tint. Debating spray in (have had Rhino Liner in the past) Rhino vs. Line-X vs. WeatherTech "mat".

Think it's just the way the sunlight hits the glass; makes the defroster copper color stand out more. What is that gold stripping on the back window...defrost?? Never saw it so pronounced like that before?? Nice ride![]()
Either way, nice ride, sounds like you got a good deal considering people like myself have had to order ours. I read your post about the leaks in the Ridgeline. When I was researching my choices I saw lots of people with that leak issue. Sounded like a simple fix, for most, but it still rubbed me the wrong way. After checking other trucks out, ended up ordering a Ranger. Prob wont be getting it until May, but I dont mind waiting. Good luck with your rideYes, seems to be. It does pop out, that is for sure.
I think a lot of it depends on the batch of paint; I have a bunch of CG around me and two can be parked near each other in a lot - one will look great like OP, one will look mint green.Congrats Todd! The Cactus Gray looks really sharp. When I fist saw it on the Bronco I didn't care for it all that much but it looks great on the Ranger.
There's not many around here so I've never been able to see two side x side. Lighting plays a huge roll too. The more sun the less mint green it looks and the ones with pictures in the snow look really nice too.I think a lot of it depends on the batch of paint; I have a bunch of CG around me and two can be parked near each other in a lot - one will look great like OP, one will look mint green.
I keep trying to tell folks that the Ridgeline is not the Maverick or the Santa Cruz but it's deaf ears. Honda did a terrible job of marketing it. My ex is on her 2nd from this generation and I'm always envious of how much nicer and roomier it is inside. And I'll never let her know it has a higher payload capacity lol.Yes it seems there is more than just a few Rideglines out there with that problem. It was a real hassle, LOTS of emails, phone calls, trips to the dealer and at the end it STILL leaked, water found under the rear carpet after a rain or wash.
I know the Honda was considered by many "not a real truck", but it did most things I needed, and "fit" me. I'm 6' 3", a former Toy TACO owner, and did look at new 2022 TACOs, but I simply don't fit in one - my head touches, and my A$$ feels like I'm sitting on the floor. The Honda AND the Ranger both fit me well. Honestly, the Honda is a bit nicer interior.
Thank you for the welcome and the kind words.
Maybe I'll stake out the parking lot the next time I see two of them in it and try to get them to park next to each other. We live in small town and I drive a Ranger too - they shouldn't think it's too weird, right?Agreed, and maybe(?) not the paint (batch), but just the lighting. I notice in shade mine will look a bit more green, and in the sun, more neutral.
Just tell them you're doing undercover research for R5G.Maybe I'll stake out the parking lot the next time I see two of them in it and try to get them to park next to each other. We live in small town and I drive a Ranger too -
