Need advice on getting exhaust clamps to seal at joints.

I recently installed CVF’s catted DP on my 21’ Ranger. The clamps they gave me to secure the both sides of the adapter pipe which is slotted on 3 sides. I do not have a 1/2” impact so I had to use ratchet to tighten the clamps. I also broke out the breaker bar to get them tighter but I’m still getting a leak from the outlet side of DP to the adapter pipe. Is there a trick to getting these slotted pipes to seal? What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated!

On the mid pipe side, CVF sent me two of the same size clamps so I assumed they messed up. I bought this other type of clamp at AutoZone. Not 100% sure if it’s sealed completely either

Put 1 layer of exhaust wrap and put the clamp back on..

Really?? The aluminum boat I bought used from a guy online had a pretty big hole in it. That flex seal stuff seemed to work pretty well. Hasn’t leaked since.

LOL, replaced the section of gutter and that solved the leakage.

Second picture shows the clamp is not fully compressed.....there is around 1/2 to 3/4 inch gaps where the clamp compresses into thay "X" shaped spacer. Clamp needs to be completly seated into the spacer groove.
You might need a proper impact wrench to tighten it thorughly....
Hard to tell from the picture if the double clamp is in need of tightening.....but a partial view indicates the same...

There is an episode of ROADKILL where Freiburger and Dulcich road trip the 71 Pontiac T37 along the east coast and Freiburger tried to patch the cracked radiator on the car with Flex Tape. It didn't work for very long. Dulcich ended up soldiering it back together.

Stating the obvious here, but you left the hanger stud on the left of your pic unused. Was this intentional to get this to fit up? If not the sagging and flexing of the exhaust may be causing the leak at the clamp joint.

I struggled for about an hour trying to get the hanger to mount on that stud while at the same time being able to mount all 3 bolts on turbo outlet without significant binding. I plan to readdress it when it cools down. That was a thought that occurred to me but I assumed that since I’ve got flex pipe on the other end it that it shouldn’t be the cause. Idk.. If that’s the case I’m prob gonna just take it to muffler shop and let them deal with it rather than waiting until fall
