Just saying, I had someone steal mudflaps(and wiper blades...) off my truck once at wal-mart.

Not telling you to commit a crime, but if you're motivated like that person was, you could cruse around parking lots at night with tools, waiting for a 5g ranger thats all alone...

I wish I could contribute something to your thread, but I will tag along and see how this goes for you. Rock Auto shows the same part numbers between 2019 and 2020. BUT only available in XL/XLT like you said.
I guess my question is... Since the Lariat is a trim package, why are parts like CV not interchangeable between Lariat and XL/XLT?
Agreed....
What's the difference between a CV / Axle shaft between the Sport, XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, Splash, etc... In my humble opinion they are trim packages and paint colors. Just because your truck is red and mine is grey doesn't mean the core components are any different. Same CV and Axles in all the Rangers - or at least should be.

I believe the Tremor has a different axle shaft. Not sure, but thats what Ive read. The others should be the same though.

Same boat here. My passenger side was leaking, noticed when doing wheel spacers at 4500 miles. Went to dealer last month, National back order. ETA 10/26.

Call Levittown ford and tell your story/ask. Talk to Benny and let him know you are from the forum

They specialize in parts and may be able to locate one or direct you to a used one
Benny was a great help and located a part but it is the wrong one .
The part that keeps getting shipped is for the passenger side . My repair shop ordered one 3 weeks ago out of Atlanta and the last one I ordered from the link Benny provided was listed as a leftside but when they come in they are the shorter one for the passenger side .
# KB3G-3A427-BB , but my broken axle is a # KB3G-3A428-BB . The passenger side only has one splined shaft sticking out where the 428 has a splined shaft from both ends . My part says KB3G-3A428-BB .

Are they referring to the part as looking from the front of the truck or are they listing it incorrectly ? We have specified a drivers side when ordering .

I'd hate to wait on this backorder and it still come in as the passenger side .

This is becoming expensive and a headache :(

Emailed and they said would not fit my 2020 Lariat
Just curious, what about the two are different? All I can think of is a difference in the speed sensor and hub setup.

On various sites I look at, it's the same part number for both trim levels..

I'm not sure but whenever I give them my VIN # every used place says it will not fit .

Even the Ford dealerships that I have ordered a new part from don't know what is what . Here are pics of the new part I have been sent twice and my old broken part . When you look at the Ford Part sites they show the #427 as the left side with towing pkg but mine is a #428 which the sites list as the right side.

I thought I would give an update to my delimma .

On Friday I visited the large dealer that my Bronco and Lightening are reserved thru and the parts manager tried to help me with the Ranger debacle . He found out the system now shows the CV shaft is on national backorder until late November and it list the reason as "Excessive Demand" , whatever that means . Also the 2 parts that I thought I had found but were the wrong side (in the correct box) when they came in is due to some # changing by Ford in its parts system . The left side CV was a # KB3G-3A428-BB . The "G" is an engineering designation and that letter changes to a "Z" in the parts book . The right side was and still is a # KB3Z-3A427-BB . Ford however , changed the left side part # from 428 to KB3Z-3A427-B . To make matters worse they have the CAD drawing and descriptions flipped flopped in his book . What is shown to be the right side is listed as the left side in the description .

Hopefully they have all this figured out when the new batch starts shipping but no one could offer any assurance that it would be :(

I drove my truck for 12 days after purchasing it and this coming Thursday will be a month sitting at the repair shop , then I have to get it to the body shop to repair the damage to the bumper from the towing service .
