I get 22mpg (mostly city driving). I have Borla exhaust and SPD downpipe. Was stupid loud so I welded in a Borla 16" Resonator. I put my foot in her and she "shits-and-gits"!!

When it comes to exhaust sound, I'm that old man who complains about it. I hate loud exhaust. As someone who lives near a main street, 90% of the traffic does not bother me but the dudes with loud trucks and mustangs that backfire as they drive by make it so you can't enjoy open windows.

I rode inside a friends V8 sierra one time that had an aftermarket exhaust on it and I had a pounding headache after 2 minutes. Yeah nope. Give me stock exhaust that keeps it quiet to both the occupants and the bystanders who have to listen to your vehicle.

I hear ya! I live near the bottom of a hill and I cannot believe how loud some engine brakes are. Totally uncalled for!

I happen to live right next to a state route, and the only thing that makes living next to that stupid road somewhat bearable.....are the people that drive by with their loud aftermarket exhausts

?

Aahhhh... subjectivity.

We don’t do smog testing in Washington County, Utah nor do we do safety inspections. Plenty of people WITH mufflers that are absurdly loud. Much louder than what I’ve seen in videos and reviews.
Utah doesn't require a muffler?
technically Muffler deletes are after the cat so it would not be required for any emissions test. Even CARB based states like CA.

But that doesn't mean it is ok due to noise level requirements of various states and cities

I deleted just the muffler, left the entire exhaust system on resonator and pipes. I noticed it seemed to spool up a lot quicker than it used to. I'm getting 26 months a gallon the other day at 75 mile an hour. I don't know anything I did with the exhaust that warrants this. On a trip up north once I actually got over 28 miles a gallon run 70 mph on the interstate on the flat level so this is not surprising. As far as noise goes you can't even hear the exhaust at any speed, unless you're in the throttle hard if it's making boost then you're going to get a little tiny bit of rumble, but not much.

26 months per gallon? Please explain this new form of measurement?! ??

That's the kind of little errors you get when you don't proof read before you hit the send button.
