Installed my Mountain Hatch this afternoon. Absolutely love it.

Took me about half an hour to install. Most of that was cutting away at the bed liner on the screws so I could screw them out to install. Does make the tailgate slightly heavier, but that’s not issue to me.

EDIT: In case any of you all have the bed liner too and decide to install this as well, just use a knife and cut a circle around the screw, then cut in, lift it, and rip. Took a few minutes to figure it out but after thats its easy.

I want it, but can't bring myself to spend that much on it. $100-$150, yes. $240-$250, no.
I am with you, thats what took me so long to install. Luckily they have a Vet discount and I ended at about $209 with shipping.

Is this just a fancy tailgate protector? Or am I missing something?

I did the CAT rubber one to match the bed mat, both for like $140.

Won't hold a drink, but, the rubber should help.

I wonder if something like this that could hold a few things would be useful, like being able to have a shovel strapped down to it. Of course, that ruins the tailgating ability.

For the life of me I can't figure out the appeal of this, especially for the price. So its a place to sit? uncomfortable. A cutting board? Its a dirty tailgate that gets stepped on. Not really something I want to cut food on. It's a table? Hope your truck is level.

The fascination with everything being connected to the truck kinda baffles me honestly. Can someone give me some pro's to this because all I can see are negatives.

It turns your tailgate from a grooved surface into a flat surface. Use it how you want.

Thanks for sharing photos. Mine is sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Stoked to have a flat and smooth work surface.
