that helped there. Though reading this thread I’m looking for the other entry points listed in the replies. I found the start of a nest under my back seat in those storage well areas.

Maybe I wasn't clear. There are two entry points at the back of the cab behind each seat, and two more under the passenger plastic cowl that feed the air filter. 4 total.

Screen them... and screen the engine air intake to keep them out of the air filter box.

I actually completely blocked the 2 rear cabin vents, and screened the other 3 entry points.

I was redoing some stuff in my truck and running wires into the center console so I pulled the back panel off (the one with the 12v plug and USBs). And I see what looks like a thread of rug under the plug.

So I pull the plug out of the way:

And fished him out with needlenose pliers!

I had poison boxes under the seats, so I figure he either ate that and died or just baked to death in the heat. I just happened to catch him by chance before he really started to smell.

I have hardware cloth blocking the engine/cabin filter entrance and more hardware cloth in the jack compartment as well as a seat delete blocking the top...so I don't know how he got in. There must be a third entrance somewhere?

It's weird too because they usually go in during winter not summer.

I put in a rat block next to the battery..

I drilled holes in an altoids tin, put cotton balls and magnets in, stuck it by the battery and water it with peppermint extract. Though I let it get dry since it's an oven in there.

Been having mouse problems in mine. Tried for a few months now to trap it/them but for some reason, they just aren't biting right now. So along with my first oil change, I tore the truck apart to block the access points. I did the engine intake right when I got the truck as I have BTDT and don't wait for them to find it as it is a given.

Behind the seats there were 2 of these vent units, but only the driver side one was open at all. The passenger side one was solid so i did not mess with it. A couple self-tapping sheet metal screws did the trick

Similar under the hood. I already found a nest started at the engine intake screen I added:

It is unfortunate that we have to do these things. Ford should step up. I did something similar 6 months ago.

Yeah it would be nice if they screened off the obvious ones like the air intakes for the engine and HVAC. This is such a common problem on ALL vehicles that it would sure be nice if they pre-empted it. Mice are everywhere and even city people have issues but those of us in the country run into it all the time.

Same for us, go in and nest in the winter but they seem to chew wires anytime.

Our garage shop vac had a vacuum bag in it and they went through the hose during the winter, and ate it all up and made a big nest in there.

Somewhere out there, my @ss! Little bastard Fievel's under the hood! =D

How does that rear seat come off?

I wonder what kind of rear vents on in the scab? I tried once to get the rear seatbacks off, but I didn't have the trick and never could get them off.

Both vents exist behind the rear seats in the Scab. I simply blocked mine.

Thanks, I'll have to try again. I yanked and pulled on them and could never get the magic handshake to get them off.
