I have had similar problems but more severe. They chewed through the cabin air filter. Left messes within. But the worst is they chewed through the crank position sensor wires causing the truck to go into backup engine mode ( no turbo, retarded timing).
Next came the fuel line. Lit up the truck to the smell of gas. Immediately shut it down. A month to get parts. Basically any plastics that use soy oil they very much enjoy. I wish Ford did a better job of sealing the cab. They get in through the vent openings under the wiper valance. I have numerous photos if anyone wished.

A little update: I did a little more digging and found another nest in the console under the parking brake lever. No corpses though.

Oof. I had mice in my old Taco that I drove rarely and it sat in our back yard. They would get into the vents and nest in the interior fan housing. My mechanic called it the "death tilt-a-whirl"

I did a bunch of stuff: peppermint extract, hardware cloth over the openings, capsaicin-infused wiring tape. The mice have left it alone...now they just eat my chicken feed instead. I have started just trapping and killing them. Sometimes I get two a day.

The little bastards can squeeze through impossibly small holes. Probably through the vents at the rear of the cabin would be the easiest spot for them.

I caught a whole family from a home I owned (one by one) with a home designed live trap and kept them as pets...until they started making more babies...that's wrong...I mean I think they're related lol...so I let em go in a field...

The great and mighty Nebelung. She’s a little disheveled, just got up from a nap.

OMG it really is, does she also follow you around like a dog, and play chase in the back yard, and wake you up in the morning to go and fill her food dish? We got her as a rescue kitten and it took ages to work out what she was, as it's quite an uncommon breed over here.

Ours loves to be chased and does follow us around. Routine is paramount whether it be food bowl, nap time or play time. Generally very low keyed and mellow. Does not like strangers, will hide in the bedroom hours after they have gone.

Continuing my mission ... I pulled out the rear seat backs this morning and found the two cab vents. One had a piece of rigid open-cell foam glued over it as a filter for dust, vermin, whatever. The driver's side vent was lacking that foam piece, though. It looked like a great entry point for mice, so I cut a piece of 1/4-inch hardware cloth to fit and duct-taped it over the vent. That should be a deterrent, assuming mice don't like the taste of duct tape.

While I had the back seat out I pulled the sill trim. There was more nest material on the driver's side but the passenger side was clean. I'm hoping I've cleared out the mouseketeers for the foreseeable future.

My truck lives in the garage, as does the bird feed storage hopper. After a week or so of non use, I took the truck out and it had a strange shuffle/rattle in the roof. Appearently some industrous mice decided the area above the roof liner would be a great place to store a bunch of bird seed. How the little buggers got it there is a mystery. Anyway, once I figured it out I pulled the dome light and inserted the shop vac. Got about 2 quarts of seed out, which is probably about 2/3 of what is up there. Due to foam strips in that space, I can not get the vacuum to reach the sides. It took some time but I am getting used to seed bouncing around up there when I hit a bump. I imagine the only solution is to pull the roof liner, but that looks like a lot of work, so I just put up with it.
Following this, I started leaving the door between the house and garage open and the cat has stepped up his game. No further mouse issues.
