Local Dealer has half up-badged Splash they just sold.

I was looking on FB marketplace and saw that a local dealer had a 22 Cyber Orange Splash for sale. Watched the video and was thinking, something looked off, watched it again and noticed the left rear has an FX4 sticker on it but the right has 4x4. Looking at the interior shots there are not TM buttons or rear locker controls, so clearly, not an FX4. When I first interacted with the seller they stated it sold last night, but I still wanted to ask about the mismatched badging. I straight out asked was there rear panel damage that was repaired (in the video the sun's reflection seems to change to me in that area too) and parts department just ordered the wrong sticker and no one notice or what. Seller stated it done by the previous customer. He even stated at one point in the messages that it's a Splash with FX4 package, I hope they didn't sell it to someone thinking it had the FX4 package on it.

Just as it enters the transition, note the more vertical reflection above the "2 F".

Into the back area, note the reflection curl down toward the the last 2 in 2022.

It just goes to show you that people at the dealership(s) really don't pay any attention to detail or know what they're selling. This was missed by several people from the original person who took the truck in on trade to the manager and even the person detailing it. Like everything now you really have to do you due diligence and know your product. SMH

Salesman saw me looking at it and asked if I wanted to buy it? I said no, just looking. I asked why there was a 4x4 badge on a truck that’s two wheel drive? I looked under the truck and there’s no cv axles or diff in the front… You know it’s not 4x4, right? He smirked and said yeah we know, but we’re hoping whoever buys it doesn’t catch that.

So he admitted they’re KNOWINGLY falsely advertising a product, hoping nobody catches on… Places like that are why people don’t trust dealerships. Shady people that do shady things!

I watched the video and you’re on to something about that paint, John. There is no depth to it on the driver’s side and hood. I can only imagine the amount of orange peel. Reminded me of rattle can finishes I’ve seen on cars.
