It’s very expensive ($516 US with a 32 GB storage), but it has 4K front recording and 1080p rear recording. You can also buy a battery that will allow it to run 24 hours after the truck is turned off.
That sounds good, ill check it out. I get a discount on insurance for having a front and rear dash cam so it can pay for self quick.

A note on build quality, this vehicle was built pretty early (I was told it was one of thefirst Canadian edition trucks ,Metric gauges and what not). I looked really hard for major fit issues and quality issues, out side of some obvious parts that hadn't been made yet ,like the fuse door on the panel below the drivers coloum. It appeared really well put together, there weren't big gaps, no parts seemed loose or clunky, it really did seem pre production. I have a good feeling about the first run of rangers if the vehicle I saw today is a good example.
That explains why the speedometer looked like it went up to 200 mph.

I saw a preproduction Lariat in Minnesota today and was able to take a few photos of the rearview mirror assembly, hopefully this helps with your dashcam plans!

See if you can find the factory sub and see what size it is, a close up of the fender vents to see if they are open to the engine bay, and if there is enough room to fit a 33” tire where the spare sits.

Thanks!
The fender vent definitely isn't a real vent, no direct access to the engine compartment.

And some pictures of storage spots below the rear seat(s) and behind them. I've seen the one below the passenger side rear seat and it seems REALLY small - the driver side seems to be taken up the jack, etc. Wondering if there is ANY room behind the seat for stuff (I'm looking for a nice place to hold tow straps, rope, etc)
Jack was behind the passenger rear, tools under the passenger rear above the larger of the two cubbies under the rear seats. Not sure why the driver rear under seat storage is so small, couldn't figure out what's taking up all that space under/behind the cubby.

Might be able to fit a rope on top of the jack behind the seat if it isn't too big, otherwise the only other option would be under the passenger rear. Under the driver rear is pretty much useless except for a few small tools or other small items.

Interesting, looks like the jack tools were installed on opposite sides in the different trucks we saw!

Interesting to see why the production models don't have a drivers side grab handle. There is fords photos and the vehicle description. I hope I can get the dealer to give me a better deal than we agreed upon if the Ranger shows up unadvertised. when I was under the impression it did come with it

The owner's manual indicates on pages 294-296 that the jack and tools are stored in different locations based on cab style. The jack is stored in the compartment beneath the driver side rear seat in the super cab, stored behind seat back passenger side for super crew. Why different locations?

I didn’t realize how large the safety camera housing was. That’s going to make installing a dash cam tricky, since it will have to be off-centered.

The picture showing the driver (you) sitting behind the steering wheel has me worried. The right knee room looks awfully tight.
Looks like the seat is almost all the way forward

Yes it is far forward , but not all the way. I have a C-spine injury which won't let me raise my arms high, I have to be close to all the controls. That's why it's like that. On that note I found the window sill too high to rest my arm on comfortably and the arm rest on the door was too low, so I will fabricate a riser of about 2 inches to make the arm rest a good height for me.

Any close ups on the drivers side door arm rest? curious on the fabric used to see if its confortable and padded enough for long trips without irritating the skin.
