If I request tunes with AS/S enabled, will they update my current ones or will I have additional tunes with and w/o AS/S? Or should I just add it in Forscan?
I'd have them do it. They should send you a new set of tunes and once you update it the old ones would be gone. I would just call them and let them know what you want so there's no confusion in an email.

I need to do this but in reverse. lol When I got my original tunes (I used a friends PC) A/S/S was enabled by default so I've been using the nightlight still. Now that I just got a cheap PC I updated the MyCal but forgot to tell them to disable A/S/S.

Thanks your replies on here guys and my apologies for the delay. I was out of the office last week and just getting back to the grind. It is normal to hear some humming type of noises from the electrical components in the engine bay during programming or for the battery voltage to drop slightly. You could always connect a jump pack or battery maintainer during programming to maintain 12v+ battery voltage as needed or take it for a ride if the truck has been sitting for a while and you plan to read / write.

Mine resets all the info as well. Each flash does a reset. I use trip 2 to track mileage and time on an oil change and that was all thrown out the window when I started playing with tunes.

That said.. my trans still slams into 5th when semi warm after plenty of time for a relearn. It had gotten worse actually. More miles seems to make it worse. It still shifts down to 8th weird at any temp odd.... and sounds like a VW diesel when ambient temps are between 52 and 59 degrees.. :/

Other than that. Super happy.
Glad to hear you've been enjoying the tunes but sorry to hear you've been experiencing some odd shifting quirks as the truck is relearning. It is always suggested to make sure the transmission fluid is full when a vehicle is shifting unusually, and to also service the transmissions every 30-40k miles some even sooner to ensure the best results and longevity possible. Being low on fluid or need of service can cause the trucks not to shift as expected so that's always one of the first things we'd check on if the truck was here.

We do also offer softer shift tunes, if you do not have those options on your Mycal already please send a tune request form over and we'll send the update to your programmer online. You can also clear the keep alive memory if the truck seems to develop some quirks over longer periods of time instead of re-installing a tune again to reset it's memory for example. To clear KAM select Diagnostics and tools, then the service functions sub menu. Then select Clear KAM and Adaptive KAM options if you want to clear the adaptive learning memory to start over relearning. This is more of a use at our discretion type of menu so please be sure not to select other options in this menu since not all functions apply to each vehicle type.

So I have been checking all weekend in case the missing tunes came through. I had no reason to beleive they would over the weekend. But I just connected again and by golly they all came in.
Here was the accompanying email regarding only getting one tune:
"This sometimes happens if you have low bandwith, or slow internet speeds. We did mark these for downloading again. We recommend that if you have any other devices sharing your active connection, that tou temoporarily disconnect them during the download process."
I now have 87-93 tow v3, 91-93 performance v5, 91-93 softer shift v5 and 87-89 performance v2.
Thank you for your order and sorry to hear you were having issues downloading your tunes initially. Very happy to hear that your issues have been taken care of while I was out of the office.

I was wondering about that. I would like not to have to always use 91 or 93. But didn't want to cheat myself out of anything I wouldn't get with the lower octane tune. I didn't get a 87 - 89 soft shift, just performance.
Why can't they make a 87 - 93 performance.
The tunes labeled for 87-89 octane are indeed truly an 87-93+ octane type of tune that is suitable for use with any unleaded fuels 87 octane or higher. As the truck sees higher octane fuels being used it will pick up more power and better fuel mileage as well, but the truck is still able to run safely on 87 octane. However the 91-93 octane tunes can only be used with premium fuels 91 octane or above due to their more aggressive nature it's not able to adjust down to 87 octane.

Thanks for the great explanation. I sent an email asking about the A/S/S being disabled. I guess I am among the few who still use it.

You are very welcome, happy to help. Thank you for the kind words as well. Yeah originally we would send out tunes with the start stop left active and 9 out of 10 customers would send a follow up request to disable it. Since it was so popular we decided to send the tunes with the start stop off by default, but it's no problem to send another update to switch that back on for you.

Cool, just submitted a tune request, thanks!

Well still waiting for the tunes with A/S/S enabled, but I installed the 91-93 soft shift performance tune last night. Holy crap! There so much more available power it's unreal!

Yeah it has a lot more punch! But if you like that flash the 91-93 performance tune. ?

I first ran the 91-93 performance tune then to the soft shift tune. I changed back over to the 91-93 performance tune because many here said the soft shifts are worse for the transmission and the harder ones (which the performance tune has) are better. After Sid blew his I didn't want to take any chances.

Does it feel much different? One reason I didn't put that on is if the wife drives it she would complain about the hard shifts. I guess I could just tell her to shut the hell up!

It does shift pretty hard at first (very noticeable in the first couple gears) then after a tank or two it does smooth out. It's definitely more noticeable than the soft shift tune but I don't think she'll hate it and Annie never knew I changed it when she drives it.

Good to know. I guess my next question is, does the soft shift tune make the tranny shift softer than stock?

Wait wait wait… so is this speculation or proven? I’m running the soft shift but dang now I might need to change. Guess I’ll send a request anyways to get the regular shifting performance tune. You guys need to make up my mind!

Yeah, I would only be concerned if the soft shift tune shifts softer than stock.

IDK, I've read this several times that the harder shifts are better for the clutches. ?‍♂
