I personally had a very good experience with Line-X. My local franchise asked when I called if I had planned on putting a cover on my bed or not - they recommended the premium if I was not planning to use a cover. I was planning on getting the premium anyway, but this helped reinforce my decision. They were very professional and it turned out better than I had anticipated (so far). They clearly offer the UV protection for a reason. If you do any amount of research beforehand you should know that it fades quickly. It would be difficult for me to get mad if I didn't buy the UV protection offered, left it bake in the sun, and then it faded ?‍♂ - that seems like it would be my own fault - or your local franchise should have been better about explaining.

in your opinion it was the same product, but clearly your mistaken. the results are obvious they were not.

you bought the low end product, you got low end performance by 2020 standards.

your beef isnt with Linex, its with your expectations.

Haha.... Same product. Clearly you can't read. I know what I bought... BOTH Times. The product is not what it used to be.

This why I don't spend time on these forums anymore.. Try to help and all you get is a bunch of A-hole responses.... See ya,

Yours looks great.... My installer did not say it would fade like it did, nor did they ask about if it would be exposed to the elements. I have already dealt with them about how they handled the situation. Had they told me the basic would not last even a year before fading, I would have upgraded... It's a no brainer. My last application lasted forever and looked great, so I expected the same results.
Once again.... I just posted to try and help anyone who was thinking about getting a linex bedliner and that they should upgrade to premium.

Question - is it just fading? Or is it chalky? I thought I heard you say it was faded and chalky. Fading is one thing, but being chalky indicates the coating is breaking down.

Sorry - I reread my post and it sounds a little bit like I'm attacking you. I meant "you" in the sense of anyone looking to get the bed liner. It sucks that your local franchise didn't tell you. They literally told me the black color would last less than a year in constant sunlight. I had already made up my mind about getting the premium even before speaking to them though just based on searching around online and reading forum posts - but it helps that they were super honest about it. Difference between good installers and bad installers I guess. I hope they are atleast helping you out in some way.

The Line-X bed liner that they are talking about is an aftermarket product. I've got the factory installed spray-in liner like you ordered, and I love it. It has held up really well. No regrets.
O.K. good news. Thanks.

Gee I added the $495 option to my upcoming build thinking it would be worth it. I wonder if I should remove it from the order and figure out a different solution.
I would call around and see if there is a Bullet Liner installer in your area. Mine cost around $450 installed, with a lifetime warranty.

Fwiw, 303 aerospace protectant will bring back that sheen and protect it against further uv damage. Me, I didn't get premium, but I have a soft top. I apply ceramic spray on the linex on the tailgate for uv protection.

Your post does make me regret not shelling out the extra at the time of purchase tho...

This thread is exactly why I opted for a drop in bed liner. 14 months in and no fading, plus if anything does happen to it, replacement is always an option. I don't like the fact that the spray in bed liners are permanent.

I had Line-X in my 2005 F-150 with a cover, and it looked like new when I traded it in on my 2020 Ranger. When I went to the local Line-X dealer (in Daytona Beach) to get the Ranger sprayed, he asked me if I was going to get a cover. I said yes, so he said I didn't need the top priced product and the $495 would be fine. That's the way I went. I guess time will tell if the new is as good as the old was. (my 2¢)

I got my spray in from Ford when I ordered mine, never regretted it.

It may be soap from the car wash that never gets washed out. Thats why the tail gate looks OK.

you should change the title to be less misleading.

it should read,

"Linex Bedliner, I'll never buy the lowest end product ever again and expect it to perform like the high end product."
I agree. I've had Linex in every pickup I've owned and completely understood that unless I went with premium, it would fade. I still think Linex is the best bed liner made.

My Ranger came with the Ford spray liner and the quality is much less than Linex. The thickness is much less and the coverage isn't as complete .
