when we all are dead from this...who really cares about internet speeds??

Good point.

I appreciate your optimism and outlook on our future.

Pshffff. :giggle: Honestly, this whole pandemic has me slightly worried. The internet topic got it off my mind.

Back on topic now.

They are predicted the worst is coming this week or two in the tri-state (NY/NJ/CT) area. I'm staying tucked in my home office and blasting some Metallica while working.

Hi Folks,

In retirement, it has become clear that certain hobbies are very helpful to break up being house bound. Wife is a painter and avid book reader...I am in my shop either woodworking or metal working, and sometimes both. Wife wants to salvage her mom's marble top table by constructing a metal frame incorporating the marble top and the Greek Revival lyre accent piece. I am in the sketching it phase to be followed by a scale drawing followed by cutting metal and then carefully dismantling the old wood pieces for installation into the new frame....

Gen 2 dig subscriber line. V=very high bit rate. Vdsl2 can deliver anywhere from 1.5meg up past 100meg with pair bonding and vectoring and within a short distance of the CO or DSLAM.
Thanks. I didn't really understand the difference.

I never thought i would miss physically going into work....
I won't. As the pandemic intensified, I became an essential at my job. The more I look at the interiors of some of the vehicles I get in a touch, the more I just want to stay away.
So, 1 week ago I retired from the auto industry. I'll be 64 next month so that makes me quite vulnerable if I stayed.
Won't miss it.

That reminds me of when i was working and had to get in to Company assigned vehicles to service them. Some of the drivers were absolute PIGS. The steering wheels were sticky with months of built up food and sweaty palms, or stunk with cigarette smoke. I don't miss it either. Congratulations on your retirement!

You know what really sucks, is being a mechanic and a pack rat too! It's taken me a full week to keep this, and throw out that, and organize all these tools. But lt's all good.
Thanks for all for the congrats. :fistbump:
