Folded, for maximum tensile strength and surface area, especially with that thinner-than bible-pages TP they use in rest areas. Wadded increases the absorbancy, but at the expense of crack conformity and coverage.
True this! Nothing worse than sudden and unexpected tissue containment failure.

People still used the Sears catalog back then and only the even numbered pages.
Catalogue use was deprecated when they started using full page glossy adds.

Good grief, that is so wrong. TP rolls always come with an even number of sheets. If you use an odd number, then there is a high probability that you will have an odd number of sheets left at the end of the roll.
Not a problem at all, just means an added margin of safety when you finish up. A real bastard though if you are just starting and there is no convenient backup.

How about the Kawasaki H2 engine with individual exhaust per cylinder ?
Oh yes, you would have the fastest mower in the west! But you would have to splay them out more so the smoke screen didn't blind you when you gave it some stick. Back in my younger and more reckless days of my youth I actually owned its brother the H1 for a number of years, and I'm still alive!

That does make a difference.
Or so my grandfather told me ( I'm old, but not that old) Although I'm pretty sure I do remember seeing a catalogue once in my great uncle's farm outhouse when I was visiting as a small child, I did wonder why it was on the wall and was a few years out of date.

So this begs the question, wadded up or folded?
A good friend of mine once worked for a major tissue and toilet paper manufacturer. His favourite line was, “There are two types of people, folders and bunchers and you look like a buncher to me.”

HIS favourite line, no one else’s. ?

Must be folded, gives you a guaranteed and known tensile strength, scrunched carries the risk of inadvertently using a bit of single ply with potentially disastrous results. See my post above about sudden tissue containment failure.

A little Super Glue and a clamp will fix it.
I eat the same thing for breakfast every day, the exact same amount of coffee, and locker #11 at the gym, among other things.
I don't have OCD, I have CDO with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be.

I disagree. There may or not be an even number of whole sheets, but if you carefully pry apart that last deformed wad at the very end of the roll, that is actually two sheets, so that equals an even number of whole sheets plus the runt sheet for an odd total number of sheets.

I'm trying to imagine someone discovering Ranger5G for the first time and reads this thread as the very first encounter with the Forum.

Well that's certainly going to make them question their choice of vehicle. God forbid they may turn to GM, I wouldn't want to be responsible for that.
