Headlights look cool. But I have to ask, do you park on a tile floor? That is pretty cool!
Yes that my carport. Tile floors for parking is the norm here. But when it's wet its slippery as hell. Especially when the owner has painted the tile. When I build my house it will have tile but not smooth.

@Synfulz how are the led assemblies holding up so far? And how is the beam pattern with them? Thanks.

They are excellent. Nice wide beam on low and high definitely reaches out.

I know I know, this horse has been beaten dead over and over AND I've moved on from my Ranger, but this thread on the enemy site is WELL worth the read for a lot of folks here. A forum member took the time to test an absolutely incredible number of headlight bulbs. He has proved in definite with a TON of hard evidence, that there is NOT A SINGLE LED DROP IN that performs like a halogen, AND that every single LED drop in actually performs worse than a high quality halogen.

3rd Gen HID vs LED vs Halogen H11 projector headlights | Tacoma World

For those who wont click, basically the diameter of the filament is too small, and LEDs plain and simple cant get small enough or thin enough to blast the correct beam pattern. The extra thickness here makes it so the light doenst hit the right parts of the housing, and the light simply cant bounce as far outward. There are a TON of readings on this in the post, and its not special to the tacoma. Every halogen designed housing will fall under the same general rules of physics.

This was a hill I have died on with this site a number of times, LED drop ins are dangerous, and they legitimately perform worse than what you removed, no matter how much placebo you've been drinking.

Now, fight.

Quantification, it tastes good.

Hence complete engineered assemblies.

After my personal experience with different drop in LEDs (especially the 12,000 & 16,000 lumen Auxitos that come so damned highly recommended on here), I came to the conclusion that the Ranger low beam reflector does not do well with LED “bulbs”. That is why next month I will be installing the GTR Carbide assemblies in my Ranger. I love the look and for $575 I feel like they are a good cost effective option…looking at you $1,400 Morimotos…?

Now, that being said, I am not here to tell others what they can/should and cannot/should not do to their own Rangers. People are going to do what they want regardless of what someone else thinks…but me personally, low beam drop ins are not a good fit. Just my $.02. And before anyone asks, yes I did have them aimed correctly.

Now, I do have the 16,000 lumen Auxitos in my high beams. Let me tell you, they shine like the surface of the sun! I left the Auxitos in my highs because no one but me sees them…with the exception of those that flash me because they think my lows are my highs…when I flash back they dim their shit real quick. But for the sake of the other drivers on the road I removed LEDs from my low beams because they were just too bright.

I did the same thing. Lasted a week and removed them. Great for high beams.

I think this is what that whole post was actually about. It might throw more lumens down closer to the truck, making it "look" brighter, but the light isnt actually thrown as far. So you make the road brighter right in front of you, but cant see as far - from a physics standpoint. Theres really no argument to be made, the data is solid.
