Lambda question for FP tune

Best advice I could give would be to put that tuner in your glove box and just enjoy your truck. The thing is there's absolutely nothing you can do about anything you are trying to monitor. You can't change anything in the tune and Ford is not going to send you any revisions. Not only that you are putting yourself at risk trying to make sense of gauges while you are driving.

If you are looking for more get a more out of a tune go with a custom tune. Datalog and correspond back and forth with the tuner, LET THEM figure out the details of the tune and just enjoy the drive.

There's an entire EcoBoost section on the HPtuners forum but, as mentioned unless you are looking to buy the hardware/software and starting tuning yourself there's nothing you can do about it.

It was actually very helpful my friend. Thank you. I do plan to go to Livernois in the future. This is just a pilot study so to speak. I think I won't take too much into consideration the data I am getting as the commanded values from the data logs are different/more specific(I think I got that right).

I really just wanted to see if these lambda values are accurate and why they changed to brighten my understanding of this all. I went to the HPtuners forums for a few threads including the f150 ecoboost forums, I do understand more now. Thank you for your comments and insight, I really appreciate it as it advances the conversation and knowledge.

Hey Garrett,

Appreciate you chiming in as I gained some information from your past posts. Will let you know what my average lambdas are at idle, cruise and WOT. Once I confirm I am using the correct measure. So far, it feels pretty good. Going to run a few tanks more before I give an opinion. Do you have an E20 pump near you?

I am mixing E85 3.5 gallons and 91 oct 14.5 gallons for first two tanks(92.8 octane/E25), then going to wait till 20% fuel tank and refill 2.5 gallons of E85 and the rest 91 oct. This should diminish my ethanol to E20 or lower by 5-7 fuel ups. After 5-10 fill ups, I will run the tank pretty dry and then juice it back with the 3.5 E85/ 14.5 91 oct mix. Does that sound okay?

I am doing it very similar to you, and try to stick with a constant ratio. Have not looked at the Lambdas

Used the E85 app to calculate the ratios initially

I put 2.0 gallons with each tank. My driving style is consistent, even out of town my mileage is the same because I am usually towing or off-road. So it happens the right ratio is when my gas light comes on. 2.0 gallons of E85 and the rest 91. With a few ounces of Lucas Ethanol Fuel Stabilizer

Have a few 2gal tanks I fill at an E85 station by my house and then mix at the pump at Costco. Marked in .5gal increments

Keep the Livernois tuner in my glove box, so if I find myself putting in gas before it is time, then I can use the gauge on the tuner to see fuel % and mix accordingly

Thank you Doug. I didn't quite see AFR/lambda measures when people were debating E85 and I certainly do not want to go full E85, just E25/ 93 octane for CA. Just testing the waters a little.

For sure. For what it's worth you might look into the EcoBoost Mustang forums. I believe there are some there running an e30 mix.

Just wanted to add that there are many tuners who tune with HPtuners.

I recently found out, perhaps it was you who informed me, that they support the Ranger. Luckily my preferred local tuner works with HPtuners. When my truck gets tuned, maybe shortly since the 33s are going on next week, it will be a custom tune with HPtuners software/device.

You are good for asking for questions I mean who knows what is going on inside. I can say my butt dyno and AFRs feel pretty adjusted. Been running it past 2k and its going great. Even better you have livernois, you can probably send data in after running it a little bit and get the fine tuning adjustments by them. But yes, E30 fuel mix on FP tune is a much noticeable butt dyno improvement.
