Key Jams In Door

I have a very basic xl. Ordered it that way from the factory. No key FOB and passenger side keyhole.

I would probably go to a locksmith and have them look in the keyhole with a scope and have them clean out the wd40.

Strange, I figured someone else would have encountered this issue before. I'm also guessing everyone uses their fob and wouldn't ever have this issue. Ha!

I know that David @subquark has an XL Ranger and he’s mentioned using his key fob so I guess there’s an XL even more basic-er (that’s a word right?) than Soupie.

I have the 101A package with remote mirrors. But, and I thought this was prior to 2022s, there wete versions with keyed passenger door and akeyed tailgate.

I have neither and I only have only one auto window and no rear window defroster.

I wonder if it was part of all the deleted items that happened gradually after the 2019 models?

Sounds like a pin or tumbler did not retract and is stock in the down position. Maybe close the door hard a few times to loosen it up? Do you have AAA, with the Premier I have, they cover up to $150 for a locksmith. Classic is $60 and Plus is $100 I believe. Used it for a new key one time.

I don't have AAA but good to know that's an option. Thanks for the suggestion on the door and possibly a stuck pin. I'll have to give that a try.

Could just be the lock is worn out. My old f150 did this, then a few months later the it self destructed. Had to pay a few hundred bucks to get a new one installed. Then a few months after that, someone tried breaking into my truck by jamming a screwdriver in the lock… Another $300 later, I had a functioning door lock again.

Ouch! That's no fun.

The truck just hit 13K miles. I hope the lock isn't falling apart already!

the wire either fell off or broke for some of us and we dont have a rear window defroster either LOL

Some of were smart enough to move to a warm area where we don't need a rear (or front) defroster.

I get it, some hate being hot and some (like myself) hate anything under 70*. lol

You could always take a quick trip out west later this week. They're supposed to get around 3' of snow through the weekend.
