Howdy folks, still pretty new to my Ranger so just trying to understand some of its quirks. Overall a great machine, but this one issue has me a bit stumped. Interestingly, one of the only other posts about it online is over at the Ford Maverick subreddit, posted a few days ago.
Pretty much, when I grab the door handle and open the door, I'm greeted with my truck's alarm going off. I need to jump in and hit the push-button ignition to get the alarm to cease. Its almost like the alarm disengages too slowly when I open the door (or not at all, I guess). Lately I've been too paranoid to harass my apartment complex so I just unlock the door using the fob, no issues yet with that unconventional method. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
Over the weekend, I plan on pulling the negative on the battery and letting it sit awhile to do a reset in hopes it'll get my malfunctioning Ford modem back online, and now I'm doubly hoping it'll iron out this keyless entry oddity. I'll probably play with Sync as well to see if I can maybe reset the MyKey/AdminKey configuration, still pretty new to all that voodoo.
