I work as a Fleet Mechanic for a Construction Company specializing in Concrete Cutting and Coring. I work on everything from small 120V surface grinders to International Diesels. Constantly busy, no matter what. Used to work as an Auto Mechanic and bounced around a number shops of the years. Got very very tired of shop owner and customer BS, so I rolled my books into the construction industry and couldn't be happier.

My name is Scotty I’m a welder and machinest at my job. I’m also the foreman. We remanufacture vehicle rims. I repair bends, cracks, chunks missing from wheels. Strip, sandblast, powdercoat, and machine the face of the rim to make it look new again. Some people just don’t like the color of there wheels so we change the color to what ever they want. Let’s hear what everyone does for a living.
I have done or still do the following for a living. (One of these is NOT true.)
- US Air Force Veteran
- US Army Veteran
- Retired Police Sergeant
- 911 Supervisor
- DOT Severe Incident Response Operator
- Cowboy Astronaut

Retired in July of 2016 & highly recommend it to everyone. Since then, we've moved to a small town in northern New Mexico, older house, 4 car garage & lots of space. We left Tucson behind, as it was too hot, too crowded & getting too expensive for day to day living. I still make things, just not for a living. Nice to have some shop space now when I need to work on things. Here are a few examples of what I do for fun.

I am also retired. I went through a construction electrician apprenticeship program (IBEW) but spent my last 28 working years as an electrician in a Ford assembly plant. Retired in January 2017. Now I attend high school football games, cheer leading competitions, orchestra recitals, etc. in support of the grand kids. Good times!!

I also find time for a project or two.

I was originally in the finance sector before the the crash of '07-'08 put the company I was working for out of business. I had worked as a corporate trainer during my time in finance and after doing that for a my entire professional career to date, I was ready to look for something new.

I ended up making a lateral move into digital / online services and worked my way up over the past decade. Now I'm the COO of a media company that specializes in digital services for radio. Quite happy, but always looking at my retirement account to figure out when I can start having more fun on a full time basis.

I'm a damn loyal too. I'm knocking on the door to 50 and I've only worked for 2 companies my entire professional career.

Building maintenance for Roman Catholic diocese . Fix a lot of old plumbing , and electrical stuff . Carpentry and masonry is also on the plate .4 more years i will be 62 !! And done!!
Hey, I'm right next door in Trumbull! Howdy neighbor!

I am envious of Lee's (CoastieN70) career and have great respect for his service. I attended two years at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, sailed to Europe on the Eagle and was on the Eagle during the tail end of the 1976 tall ships parade. My Coast Guard career dreams came to an abrupt end after injuring my spine at the academy. Moved on, earned a degree in computer science and worked for IBM as a computer programmer for 31.5 years. Life has a way of taking you down roads that were not part of the original plan. :) My mom frequently told me that things have a way of working out in the end. Moms are always right.
