Here in Texas, tailgate thefts are common and drive up insurance rates.

I put simple hose clamps on my last truck, but it doesn't look like i could get them on this tailgate. The hinges are designed differently.

Any tailgate locks designed for Rangers?

Hi PT,

Hose clamp won't work, but there is a tailgate bracket that installs in just a few minutes and has a puzzle lock bolt to foil most thieves. I had a bit of trouble due to age and vision but still took just a few minutes.

Chris, I think the tailgate handle can be punched with a flat head screw driver to get it open with minimal damage and since crooked body shops are buying them, it’s an easy fix.
