I worked a 13 hour night shift and in the middle of my 30 minute drive home I received a warning light...

Never take pictures while driving, but was shocked and wanted to get proof before it went away.

Did the steering wheel shake or some buzzer go off?

You are making mistakes that the Ranger is correcting (lane drifting, erratic stops/acceleration, etc...). Once you exceed the threshold Ford is recommending you pull over to refresh yourself.

This can be turned off in the settings.

No nothing like that. It was just the warning light and of course I was tired, but didn’t feel like I was driving any different than usual...

Interesting. I think I will leave it on and see what other warning lights come on as I have only had the Ranger for a few days.

@Packattack

Read owners manual from Page 184.

The system automatically monitors your
driving behavior using various inputs
including the front camera sensor.

If the system detects that your driving
alertness is reduced below a certain
threshold, the system alerts you using a
chime and a message in the information
display.

My escape has the same feature. Only time it went off was dodging all the pot holes on a stretch of I-40 near Flagstaff AZ.

Yep, I got that message on my Fusion a few times. I wanted to bitch slap the ahole who dreamt this up (now have a nag feature in these cars in case the wife isn't enough lol). But you can change the sensitivity level in the setting menu on my Fusion.

You can completely turn off the 'Driver Alert' in the Settings screen. Most of the Fords are now coming with that feature. All part of the increasing "Nanny" features that are slowly going to allow drivers to become even worse than they already are.

Yeah, so much better to fall asleep and wreck! And no, it doesn’t allow anyone to become a worse driver.

Same thing in my 2015 Explorer and in my parents 2015 F150. It's funny how when riding w/ dad he is looking around at the scenery and it goes off. lol we all have a laugh.

I don't mind the steering wheel feedback if you drift out of your lane but if you're falling asleep you won't be reading any warning that you need rest of coffee.

That is why I asked if the wheel shook. Many years ago, after staying up all night, I literally fell asleep at the wheel and drifted across the yellow line and then across the white line on the other side of the road. Someone was looking out for me, because I woke up as someone was coming in the other lane. Scared the crap out of me and I didn't have any problems staying awake after that. Last summer on a trip, I got sleepy but the rumble strips on the white line perked me up. I think stuff like this (if properly done) is helpful.
