Greetings Ranger Dangers,

Looking for some insight. I installed a 2.5 Rough Country level kit on my 2020 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 (not fx4). Followed the instructions to a T and the installation went well. It drives/handles great. Currently have OEM rims and tires.

I did notice however there is a clunky noise when I was going down a bumpy road at 35mph. It was more when I hit an indention in the road (hole or sewer drain). Could feel it in the steering. Almost like a metal on metal sound. I've gone over speed bumps and obstructions/turned onto roads (hard) with inclined entrances with no issues.

Any idea what could cause this? I see alot of community members here with the 2.5in RC level and kept stock components.

I'm new to all this as this is my first truck. Thank you in advance. ??

Recheck everything.

I had mine installed by a shop, no noise of any kind.

My truck is all stock with the exception of the 2in BORA wheel spacers.

It's your sway bar end links. Ball joint nuts can be difficult to fully tighten.

A pry bar can help relieve tension.

When I would work on my subi if I torqued the suspension before lowering it and rolling back and forth it would clunk.

In your case, I would verify the process for torqueing the suspension components.

The issue was that the bolts would cause an issue with the bushings and clunk like no ones business once I went over bumps. Flat roads were fine but turns and bumps caused the clunks... And it took me several frustrating days before I realized I was torqueing the bolts with the car up on the jack stands. I had to lower it to the ground with the nuts snug, not tight, roll back and forth for the suspension to settle than get the big torque wrench out (long handle) and torque every bolt to spec.

Recheck everything. Something isn't tight. When I installed my Eibach coilovers, I had a clunk. It was the right side upper sway bar mount. Tightened it down and now it is quiet.

RC 2.5 level lift here with stock front suspension. I agree with a loose anti sway bar end link. Mine turned out fine but I had that happen on my Mustang GT.

Another vote for sway bar end links.
