Ha. Funny story.

Couple months ago, at work, saw a 1000$ pile of azek sitting in the middle of the "suicide lane" of a 5 lane road.

Naturally, threw as much into our truck as we could before the light turned green and off we went.

The contractor who's trailer it fell off.. who we regularly do work for(of course), saw us load it into our truck from the other side of the intersection.

He called the cops.. who then put out an APB on all our trucks.. got a couple other crews pulled over and searched.. turned into a whole big thing lol. We had to meet the guy at cabelas and give him the shit he didn't have properly secured back.

Super awkward ?

Didn't even get our pee-pees slapped by our big boss.. who's usually a super grumpy dick. He knew what we were doing... honestly just trying to save the company money and time.

I was remembering this thread, when I was securing a 5 gallon can in the truck today for my road trip. Tall cans like the one's Doc has (or had, lol) but these are just plastic and only $12 each. Then I turned my head and smiled at my damper free tailgate

I noticed this on this truck too. I once closed the tailgate and for some reason decided to give it another look and noticed it wasn't secured all the way even though I know I gave it a good push. I opened it and slammed it home. Ever since then I always double check it, especially when hauling a load.

Lol That damper was the only good thing about the Taco! It was the first time I ever had one in a truck and it was nice the way it's integrated into the tailgate housing. The first time I dropped the tailgate I was like...?
