Here is some incentive for you to keep trying and not give up. The Ranger is an Australian design as I under stand it, the Escape in the video uses a European designed AC/Heat unit and yours may be made in a similar way. This might give you an idea of what you might be up against if you pull the dash. The part of the video you want starts at 4:45 into the video.

If you can see it but can't get it cold you put some glue in a tube and glue it in place.

Im still waking up at night because of pulling a dash on my 78 thunderbird in the early 90’s to replace the heater core. Ended up cutting hole in firewall to do it. Id torch a vehicle before id ever try and pull a dash again.

I know this is prolly an idiotic suggestion but did u take the cabin filter out? maybe it fell there or u can get easier access?
Hey! Nothing is idiotic with a dumb question! And yes, I've pulled the cabin air filter in hopes of getting to the bottom of the plenum.

Wow, tough crowd!!! Lol
Well yea, but anyone who can flip a Ranger upside down and shake has earned the right to be "tough"!

Worst dash out job I've ever down was a Jaguar thst needed a new a/c evap coil. Better part of 8 hours to get the thing off the firewall, then it had to go back together. Seriously un-fun.

Hoping to avoid a repeat.

I’ve flipped over and shaken a couple vehicles. Unfortunately not on purpose. ??‍♂
