If I opt to not pay for AT&T data, will that impact other features?

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Also, I don't expect I'll pay for anything just to be connected.
You pay for internet :) and Phone, and TV (maybe), but I get it, many people pay for things that are covered by other services, or just not needed. Some won't pay for cable, but then rack up $$$ paying for streaming services.

Interesting this came up today. I will have owned the ranger for 24 months at the end of this month.

I've gotten 2 voicemails advising me I need to renew my AT&T service. I don't have any AT&T services. This might explain the calls. Guess I'll just let it expire since I never use it (to my knowledge). The only thing I do with the app is check the tire pressure since I have remote start. I thought about turning on the built in GPS with forscan to see if I like that. Right now I just use the phone an if I want to see it on the screen I plug it in.

I have spectrum home internet service an I also buy their cell phone service. It's $45 a month total for unlimited everything per line. It works great for me so I don't see a need for the truck subscription. I never check my data use but I assume it's probably around 5 gigs a month an close to 10 on a heavy use month. I could probably get a data plan for 10 - 15 gigs a month an save a few bucks but it's nice not having to worry about it.

I remember back in the day we drove vehicles that weren't connected to anything. The horror, the horror.....:surprised:

Well, that excludes my old GTO. It was connected to the gas pump. :like:
My '63 Plymouth had a heated steering wheel and heated seats on sunny summer days,

the service stays on, that is how the ford app, and all the over the air updates works. All your paying for is the data for the WIFI plan.

My 67 was Luxury, Auto Heat/AC (just set the temp). AM/FM radio, Power steering, seats, windows (even the little vent was power) and power locks. Some available options that I didn't have were the auto high beams, cruise control, auto radio station scanner and 8-track player.

Interesting thought. I've been receiving AT&T calls also. Guessing they got my number from Ford when signing up for the app.
AT&T must really be pushing for sales. I've gotten about a dozen emails from 6 different reps at work wanting us to sign up or upgrades services.

Yea I've gotten one every day. My phone doesn't even alert me when unknown numbers call me.

Chris, I'll bet it also had what we called "2-60 air conditioning". Just roll the front 2 windows down, and do 60 miles per hour. :)

I am about ready to pull the plug on cable TV. I am paying Comcast $240/month for TV, internet and phone. Just keeping the internet is $70/month. Can't remember the last time I got a phone call that wasn't Spam on the land line. Streaming services for the ones I am interested in are between $5-$10 per month. I can easily keep my monthly bill for watching TV under $100.

I've still got Verizon following me around almost two years after I dropped them.

I don't pay for cable or home phone. I have an antenna on the house and get local just fine for news and such. Have a PC that acts as a media server, among other roles, that has a digital TV tuner card that can "sling" the signal to other computers on the network and even record OTA TV. My internet is $95, but I pay for one of the fastest options in my market since I work from home. We have Disney+, HBO, Netflix and Prime. Still way less than cable TV.

I pulled the plug on Cable years ago, (only use it for internet) I have a long range Hi-Def rooftop antenna that pulls in 39 channels to a Channel Master+ Antenna tuner/DVR, and a Nvidia Shield TV media player with any of the streaming services you might want. We have only Amazon Prime video/HBO/Netflix. Any other movies or shows are available via But Torrent and played via the Nvidia using the Kodi media player, you could also use Plex. I just hate paying $200+ a month for 300 channels of which I use 10 at the most. We dumped the land line also, saved $35 a month just on that, Where I was paying a total of $275 I now pay $100 for mostly the same stuff.

Nothing is impacted if you don't go with AT&T. I never activated mine for the free trial as it's usually a pain to cancel stuff on a free trial. Like you I have my truck connected to my homes wifi and everything works fine.
I should have done that. Signed up for trial & only way to cancel is to call which I forgot to do last 2 months. I have to do it this week. I’m wasting money I’d rather keep lol.
