Around 50K the dealer said I needed pads & rotors. Just got a 2nd opinion from a local shop. They said I’m close to needing pads but rotors are totally fine & dealer is full of it on that. Went ahead & had them put new pads on all 4.
I have a 21 Ranger Lariat Tremor & I have to admit if they had Mavericks on the lot when I got my truck I may have gotten it instead. Probably enough truck capability for me plus I have a 90 mile round trip for work, I live way out on a farm so no jobs close. Better mileage would be a money saver.
I’m guilty of this. When I want something I want it right then. Example, when I wanted a new phone I’d stop by my local carrier store once a week & they’d say they rarely have it in stock but I can order & have it in a week. I’d always say no thanks. If I can’t have it in my hand that day I...
Nice!!!! I’m glad you got it back & back to how it should be. Hopefully none of us will have this issue occur again but at least it’s pretty well documented now.
No way. They need the money from tickets to much here in the US.
Now if you said they are going to install little printers in new cars so when you go 10mph over your speeding ticket automatically prints out from the dash… that I can see ?
Figured I’d update in this thread.
2nd attempt today & they did have the correct driveshaft & they installed it in around a hour or I was there around a hour waiting.
Bump at stop/go is totally gone & there use to be a slight vibration when going down the road I thought was normal & it’s also...
I go tomorrow for the 2nd attempt to have the dealer fix this. Maybe they actually ordered the right driveshaft this time but I’m not optimistic lol. Keeping my fingers crossed
I know myself good enough that if I tried to take it apart & grease it myself that ranger will never run again lol. Plus cost associated with that factory bumper to bumper are factored into the vehicle so we deserve to have it fixed.
I too have the extended Ford warranty so I’m not in a made...
Same. When they asked where does it feel like it’s coming from I said so where between the brakes to the seat & over to the shifter location. A square zone around that area.
It’s obviously doesn’t affect the performance of the vehicle. The window sticker on the Ranger with tremor says 19/19 & I’m getting just over 24mpg.
Can someone explain what would happen if you just ignored this & keep driving for years. What does it do to the slip yoke, what happens ?
I want...
If it helps anyone when I did try to explain it to the dealer I used the “feels like I’m lightly bummed from behind” at stop go & said it reminded me of having a gallon of washer fluid rolling around the trunk of car BUT that The location or bump didn’t actually feel like it was back in the rear...
I saw others have trouble with telling them there is a boot repair kit/part so I didn’t even try lol. If they want to replace the drive shaft that’s fine with me, it’s under warranty. If I don’t hear back from them by Tuesday I’ll call em & see if they figured out ordering the correct drive...
It’s sounds same as mine & mine was diagnosed as the slip yoke. Now why they are ordering , twice now , a new drift shaft instead of just greasing the yoke ?‍♂️.
Ford dealer said that’s what Fords procedure is because they don’t sell some rubber boot on its own. Others on here say that’s...
My truck was in yesterday to to have the drive shaft replaced BUT the wrong driveshaft was sent to the dealer. From others have said on here the driveline is different if you have the Tremor package so Ford dealer probably ordered the wrong by mistake.
So mine did it regardless of drive mode...
Thank you. I didn’t know that. So pretty much either the Ford dealer ordered the wrong one or the parts supplier shipped the one for the non-tremor ranger by accident?
I was just at the dealer to have the driveshaft replaced under the warranty & they got it up on the lift but the wrong drive shaft was sent so they have to figure how that happened & order another one lol. They didn’t say if it was sent for the wrong vehicle or if because of the tremor package...
