If the Ranger front hub is held together like most front hubs are when they have a CV joint, I would not do that unless you just happen to have spare outer CV joint cups to bolt back in otherwise you risk destroying the bearings or worse a wheel coming loose and damaging the rotor/caliper.If you just pull your half shafts (also mentioned way back in post 11) you can be back on the road normally without causing any further damage. What's stopping you from doing this?
Instructions in section 205-04.
I did repeatedly. Verbally, in previous text messages and in emails.OP, did you press the dealer for a rental vehicle? I didn't see that in your texts, but I would let them know politely in writing (via text or email) that you were advised by the service manager to keep driving the truck until the repairs are made. And that because you no longer feel it is safe to do so, you are requesting a 4wd loaner vehicle until the repairs are completed by the dealer. Whether they accommodate your request or not, you will have established some proof of liability on the dealers part in case you decide to drive the truck (and it goes boom), or if you need to make your case to a zone rep.

Got a text message from the dealer yesterday. They got the differential in! That is the good news.
Bad news is that they cannot get my truck in for at least two weeks due to being booked out and short staffed. I am going to try to drop it off early next week to put pressure on them. If they accept the truck and I sign off the work order that will start the clock ticking on this repair. The truck has already been in the shop for 5 days total due to this issue.
