Sorry, you're going to have to be a bit more specific. What back seat alarm? The only thing I can think of is when you have someone who belts in back then, and then unbuckles. Is that the concern?

Do you have the same issue I have? When I have adults seated in the rear passenger area, wearing their seatbelts, I get a seatbelt warning for the empty middle seat. It's annoying AF!

I think he's talking about the message reminding you to check for kids in the back when exiting the truck??????

If that is the case I did turn it off in my truck (My kids are adults and I have no grand kids.... yet?). But I do not remember how I did so. Pretty sure it was via the settings on the big screen, not via the dash and steering wheel buttons.

I also remember it giving me a message saying that it would ask me about that "turn off" decision annually. IMHO not a bad thing if it saves even one young child.

My wife's new (mini-)Bronco has that option - to turn off that alert except for a six-month reminder. She's happy I found it in the settings menu. :)

You may well he correct. Maybe it was a 6 month reminder. But yea, when you have zero use for it, that dinging reminder sucks.

It's in the manual

Ford Logo
Rear Occupant Alert System - Switching Rear Occupant Alert System On and Off
SWITCHING REAR OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM ON AND OFF

  1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
  1. Press Vehicle.
  1. Switch Rear Occupant Alert on or off.
Note: The default setting is on.
Note: Performing a system reset causes the system to switch on again.
Semiannual Reminder (If Equipped)
When you switch the system off, a message appears every six months as a reminder that the system is off. You can switch the system back on or leave it off.

Yep, have to do it every six months. I have a scab and only thing back there is Cheech, and he's too small for a seat belt.

You can also turn off the front seat belt minders, if you're a Live Free or Die kind of macho man that I am. I reserve my right to be forcefully ejected through Soupie's windshield (but my suicide knob will hopefully keep most of me in the cab).

These instructions from a fellow forum member worked on my NA model: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/turn-on-off-seat-belt-chimes.3338/

Preparation
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Place the transmission selector lever in P (Park) - vehicles with automatic transmission or the neutral position - vehicles with manual transmission.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
4. Close all the vehicle doors from the inside of the vehicle.

Deactivating/Activating
NOTE: Deactivation of the belt minder may also be carried out using IDS. Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE: The belt minder can be turned off independently for the driver and the front passenger by performing the following procedure.
1. Unbuckle the driver's safety belt.
2. Unbuckle the front passenger's safety belt.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start the engine).
4. Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off.
5. NOTE: This step must be completed within 30 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.
Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt four times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled. Release the red unbuckle switch completely every cycle.
6. The safety belt warning indicator flashes momentarily to confirm the belt minder status change.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. The deactivation/activation procedure is now complete.

No need to freak, as a former firefighter and paramedic and human with a brain (albeit small and failing), I wear my seat belt and recommend that others do too, I don't need to be paying more into Medicare than I already do ... =)

This may be in the manual, but I thought I’d ask here first. This warning is really getting on my nerves. I’m 72, my youngest child is 40, my youngest grandchild is 5 and never stops talking, so forgetting him in the back seat would be impossible. Is there an easy fix, a work around through Forscan, or do I just have to put up with it?

The setting on mine is turned off through the settings menu on the steering wheel.
I don't know under what menu it is though, but it's there on the XLT trim.
