That's funny...
I smoked a full sized Ram this weekend. We were at a light that has two lanes quickly merge into one just the other side of the intersection (really bad planning Phoenix). Usually cars at the intersection aren't paying attention and get caught off guard with an instant merge when the traffic from the light turning green hasn't had a chance to spread out a little.

My remedy is to hammer the gas and get a lead to give the guy next to me room to get in. Apparently the Ram driver went to the same school. I queued up about a quarter truck length ahead of him at the light to signal intent. Didn't use 4x4 or take off traction control.

Light turned green and we were off. I was surprised when I went to merge over he was close enough the BLISS light was on but then either he let up or the Ranger kicked in an he was in the rear view and BLISS approved the merge.

A 2 dollar night light plugged into the console outlet will disable ASS.
Will the night light cause a draw on battery when truck is parked and turned off or does the outlet not work when truck is off?
Just dont want night light on all time or have to unplug it .

Newbys should be required to go back and read all of 2019 posts before asking questions.

I did a search and found the info on the battery disconnect for those interested:

No.

The outlet shuts off when the truck is off.

Now ya'll know if you were to go ahead....bite the bullet.....and go with a tune, that stop/start crap will magically go away and you will never think of it again. You can still use your 110v outlet too....;)

BTW....I will be turning over 70K in my Ranger today, only about 25 miles to go for that. So as I reach this mileage milestone I wanted to reflect on my experience with this truck to date. One word....FUN!

She runs as good or better now as the day I bought her. A real smooth running beast with a very snappy transmission. I do love my Ranger and would buy another in a minute for sure. All of you out there that have not enjoyed driving the Ranger with a high performance tune installed do not know what you are missing....

I spun my tires in Sport Mode this morning unintentionally, can't imagine it with a good tune. :)

I had the livernois regular performance tune on mine and I made a u turn in some gravel parking lot, i felt power like I never felt before. It didn't do that on soft performance or stock.

mine had a reall snappy transmission yesterday

-15C cold soak all night, only a 3 minute warm up cuz i had to go...and it took me almost three minutes to back out of the driveway.
It would just sit in R and do nothing. give it gas, it would rev.
then it would engage and rock you back a foot in a snappy motion.
then sit in R doing nothing...
rinse and repeat until i got out of the driveway and into D where it was fine, like nothing at all was wrong.

I'm at the stage now, where I am willing to be the Guinea pig for everyone with a blown transmission...here Ford, here's your transmission *hands them a basket of parts with the tow truck drivers help.

Mine is up to date on all the TSB's. Its already been worked on a couple times. A tune wont change what mine does.
I don't care if it's cold. A transmission shouldn't act this way.
So yeah Ford...I'm driving it...you might get it in pieces next time.

Sounds like what mine did a couple weeks ago in the freezing cold weather, but mine was doing the same thing in Drive.

I must say I have been very blessed with my Ranger. I've pounded pretty hard on that tranny and rear-diff.....and it's hardly coughed at all. She been down to -10 a couple of times up in South Dakota visiting the kids, no problem. The only thing I have issue with in the cold is the auto door lock/unlock. Where you put your thumb on the handle and it locks and hand on the handle to unlock. That will quit working on my drivers door when we get to single digits. I'm used to it though....I just use the rear passenger door to lock/unlock when it gets too cold.

I had switched to the HP soft shift tune from Livernois after the recent update due to a tranny bump in middle gears. So after a week I flashed back to the HP hard shift tune.....honestly, you miss so much with the solid shift as compared to the soft shift. Just doesn't have the smack to it I have grown accustom too....
It only took a couple of days to get through the learning phase and now she's jammin!!

I can't explain how thrilling it feels when you hit 3rd gear from a stop and the rear end pops hard to the left from the shift......so cool....lol

I miss it too. Had to take it off because it bugged me during stop and go traffic. Afraid I was going to rear end someone. I am curious to see if pushing the tow button will help.
