How fast have you driven in your Ranger?

Well maybe I am late on replying to this one considering the sideways turn into the wall this one took, but I've done 98 on a road trip to Oklahoma in my 2021 Lariat Tremor. Smooth as glass! For a four cylinder engine, this truck can absolutely fly!

D fresh, you are so wrong. I can already tell by your posts that you are likely a horrible operator of vehicles(note i didn't say driver) as are just about 90% of the public, including those posting in this thread. Are there lousy truck drivers? Sure, but they get weeded out pretty quick, while people who rode around the bock with a retired gym coach for a couple weeks to get there license are woefully lacking in any real skills. Most truck/car accidents are caused by the car operator, not the big truck. That is why most truck drivers and companies are running dash cams. You don't know what you don't know. I think we should totally revamp our driver education system, with real extensive training and real consequences for jackasses.I have been a trainer and driving instructor, and have attended several accredited courses and training to further teach and learn. I have over 1.5 million safe driving miles and taught many others to drive, who went on to have great safety records, how about you? To me, most people have the skill of a 5 year old girl in her barbie car, and i have to deal with this nonsense on a daily basis. unfortunately the people get more and more diverted from driving due to all this “comfort & assistance“ bullshit in modern cars. Even here in germany where u have to have 20 lessons minimum during all daytimes ( including rushhour & night) and on all roads ( including autobahn with 130km/h minimum) the drivers get worse every year. They think their expensive electronic assistance does the job and play with the radio wich is a scroll down menu without any haptical feedback these times and so on... aand people getting older and took tons of medication wich is the same as beeing on drugs…

Canada isnt a slouch in the training curriculum either, but where everyone drops the ball is not making it mandatory for recurrent training. our drivers licenses get renewed every 5 years, which they just collect a fee and update your info and off you go. theres no requirement to show you know the rules of the road at all. every bad habit can be loosened every single time with no repercussions.
I think at minimum a drivers road test should be carried out at your 5 year renewal, but hell, that would be impossible to work out the logistics of that without adding thousands more testing centres.

wow & ack! maybe every 5 years would be a bit too much. they discuss this for drivers older than 60 or 70 here in germany and europe afaik. and it is the law for truckdrivers at this age to renew their license every 2 years or something.
thing is, in my opinion, nobody prepares newbies for extreme situations. I think a few hours on a racetrack to teach the range of vehicle dynamics and limits would be helpfull.

What makes me "special" is the same thing that makes us all "special". There are laws in place for driving a motor vehicle. I drive mine according to the law, with the biggest exception possibly being the speed limit, in which I typically drive about 3-5 mph over the limit on the freeway, and about 2-3 mph over the limit on the surface streets here in PHX.

I understand the very basic concept of "slower traffic keep to the right" and because I have a really good grasp of that concept I pretty much stay in the right lane unless it is to pass someone driving slower than me. I don't hold traffic up unnecessarily in any lane that I travel (but as I said I won't be bullied into speeding up or moving place unsafely just because someone behind me is either mad or in a hurry or both).

As a former "professional" driver, it was my job to be extremely aware of the laws involving not only tractor-trailers but the motoring public in general. Most of the laws regarding speed and vehicle placement don't vary much from state to state.

As for road rage...or any other kind of "rage"...the world is full of angry people. Some folks just want to be mad at things. Doesn't matter to them WHAT other folks are doing, as they just want to be mad at something.

Okay, I came back to this thread to state how fast I have gone in the Ranger, but I see the thread has way surpassed the mere 110 mph that the truck did.
This thread has gotten stupid and now I just added to it, kinda like slowing to look at a car wreck, you just cant help it.

I'm curious how fast people have taken their Ranger. I know there will be some out there that do not approve. Personally I was on a road trip this weekend and had it up to about 96. Felt pretty stable at 90 but started to feel squirrely above that. Still have the factory shocks so that could be the issue. Not sure if there is a limiter at a certain speed.

lioked down the other day and realized I was at 92! Was passing in the hammer lane. Didn’t feel an different then 75.

Yes I did the same only @85 I was like it didn’t seem that speed and I normally run on the highway 75, in any case it’s effortless in this truck and I have RD onboard so I can stay off the shoulder with Mr. Leo
