I am wondering how to remove the headlight bulbs out of 2020 ford ranger lariat? I have assemblies like the first picture, not the usual halogens I'm used to seeing like the second picture. Are they HID or factory LED or just a fancy halogen? Any help is appreciated!

The only replaceable bulb in the Lariat housings is the Turn Signal, if you are having issues post what the issue is to determine if it is the assembly or wiring or BCM control issue.
OEM replacement new is $1100-$1700 each depending on where you get them

Are you sure the second one is a factory headlight? My 2021 Lariat's lights are like the first picture.

The first picture is the factory LED headlight, used in the Lariat models, as was said the headlight has no removable/replaceable bulbs except the turn indicator bulb.

The second picture is the factory halogen headlight, it does have removable/replaceable bulbs for high and low beams as well as turn signals.

As @airline tech said if you are having troubles with the headlights it maybe wiring or troubles with the BCM. What are your lights doing or not doing. Have you scanned for any codes.

Hope for you that it is something simple. The factory assemblies are rather expensive to replace.

Thank you guys for clarifying that! No problems luckily, I was looking to go for a brighter bulb.
Do you have any recommendations for a good set of assemblies? And I see the fog lights have the same look to them is that the same deal, a sealed unit?

I could be wrong, but yes, I believe the LED fog lights on the Lariat are sealed.

There are only a couple of companies that make replacement LED housing units; Morimoto and Alpharexx come to mind. There are also some off-brand companies here and there.

I believe all of above come from China at the end of the day. I'm highly doubtful even the top tier products of this nature are made here.

This is where if you switch the Lariat LED assemblies to aftermarket you will be one of the few if not the first on here to do so.

With that said it is hard to tell from others who have switched (upgraded) from the Halo's to the Aftermarket LED's as to if they are brighter or better coverage (lighting output) than the factory LEDs would have been (using videos & pics)

With mine (Lariat) who had the LED delete and had Halo's installed instead from factory, I swapped them out for the Factory LED's - A HUGE improvement over the Halo's.

So, with the Laws and output of Lumens (max-output) and stay legal, no matter what you get the output MAY NOT be any brighter over the stock LED assemblies if they are brighter, it won't be a big difference.

The Morimoto's are popular brand that appears to have the least complaints for issues on the Ranger, but in the last few years other aftermarket brands have developed assemblies for the Ranger 5G.

I few of us recently bought the Anzo LED lights, but they state they are for replacing the halogen setup only, to make them work as Anzo intended, it may require BCM updates to operate like a none LED truck as well. Nothing that can't be fixed with Forscan though. I'd prefer the OE LEDs... ...Hey if you really want after market, come on down to NC once I get that Anzo delivery, we'll get these Anzo's working in there somehow, and I'll take those OE LEDs off your hands.

Well I will keep the factory LED units until I must replace them, i wanted brighter more for camp roads where I'm the only vehicle rather than everyday road use so I maybe go with one of them light bars in the lower bumper.
Thank you very much guys you have been a big help with this! I will keep those recommendations in mind when it is time.

I agree, I don't believe I've heard of anyone with the Lariat LEDs changing them out for aftermarket. If they did it was probably for cosmetic reasons. It has been almost exclusively those of us with the sub-standard halogen lights.

Early one there was a large thread on changing to drop-in LED bulbs in the halogen designed housing. Sad to say I fell in with that group. Most of us have since come to the realization that that is not the best or legal way to solve the problem.

Once you install LED headlights designed to be LED headlights, it is literally a night and day difference and the other drivers will appreciate it too.

As I have not driven with the Lariat lights, I cannot speak to the difference between those and the other aftermarket lights.

This said, I think the OPs latest plan of additional offroad lights are the best plan for his usage.
