Hi guys, Please forgive me if this is obvious, but I haven't been able to find it by searching.

I picked up a 2022 Lariat Tremor yesterday, and I am upgrading from a 1989 Land Cruiser, so I have a few decades of technology to figure out.

I camp a lot, and the fact that the truck turns the lights on whenever I walk near it with the fob in my pocket is a problem. I spent hours yesterday going through menus on the radio and the steering wheel. I even tried reading the owner's manual. But I still can't figure out how to keep the lights from coming on every time I walk near the truck.

Can anybody help out the Newbie?

On a related note, is there anything smaller than this huge honking fob that I can use? I already miss my svelt little key.

Thanks!

My 2019 doesn't do that, unless I brush up against or touch the door handles. Is that what is happening to you?

Your pretty much stuck with the fob......and don't lose it/them.....big bucks and a dealer to program them to your truck.
My Lariat doesn't do anything with the lights unless I touch the door handle.....just walking by doesn't do anything.

Thanks for the quick replies!

No need to touch the door handles. Mine lights up if I get within 15 or 20 feet of the truck. My wife's 2021 F150 does the same thing.

I had hoped to avoid Forscan, as I have never played with it, and it makes me nervous.

But I may have to bite the bullet. It was merely infuriating when it was my wife's truck that did it, but it is really getting to me now that its mine.

So in 45 minutes, I have two examples of trucks that don't do this. That makes it sound like something I should be able to turn off.

My '23 Tremor doesn't do this either and I just went through the setting and don't see anything there to turn this off. If you bought this used maybe the previous owner changed it in Forscan?

Cheaper than I thought.....but dosen't dealer charge $$$$$$$ to program them ?
I'm sure it depends on the dealer. When I bought my '23 I still have 1 fob from my '19 and they told me they'd do it for $25.00. I wish I had brought it to WA with me when we picked it up! ?‍♂

Wierd.

I bought it used. I thought it must be a Ford default because my wife's '21 F150 (which we bought new) has always done the same thing.

Both trucks will turn the lights on before we can get out of the gate from the back yard to the driveway.

Last night I walked out there with both fobs in my pocket an they were both on before I got through the gate.
