One thing to remember is if you have a collision and they find out you disabled a safety feature that can in the U.S. get your claim reduced or denied, like if the other party said they couldn't see you due to the lights being inactive.
Plus if a claim is made with the automaker and they discover they got disabled then liability is in question.
It's a similar claim against your insurance company if you disable or don't replace an air bag etc after a crash and then someone gets hurt (after the Insurance company paid to replace them).
